Re: 24-26 Realignment
For those interested here is the 135 day count from the 2022-23 school year for grades 9-11 for the largest 50 high schools in the state. While the new rules stipulate that the 45 day count be used I figure this is pretty close to what we'll see for 5A at least Since most schools open with large enr...

Re: 24-26 Realignment
The current rules use the 135 Day Admissions Numbers from this year to start the process. Then they "adjust" those numbers due to the satellite schools and home school and the "we want to move this school here" numbers and they then use a committee to rubber stamp the process above board using the ...

Re: Job Openings
What does everybody think both Great Falls and Carolina High need in order to turn things around? My guess is something different. Maybe they need to take a chance on somebody that isn’t a name. Somebody that is willing to blaze a different path. ask Mark Hodge. Before he went to Chapman he saw suc...

Re: Anyone hearing when SCHSL will release enrollment number
Here are your 100 largest high schools in SC according to 45 day enrollment data for grades 9-11. This is based SOLELY on bodies in that school and does not include situations where a kid may attend school A but is eligible to compete for school B. I have put the top 40 schools in bold as they are t...

Re: VERY Preliminary 45 day count
My bad, missed that part... So how do they determine the numbers for the next realignment.. why leave out the 12th graders? Do they add in 8th graders at combined schools? This new system was agreed upon last spring maybe??? The rational was / is that including current 12th graders to determine the...

Re: VERY Preliminary 45 day count
I've been told to ask where the source of these numbers are from because the previous SCHSL count has Gaffney at 2032 .. from what you have looks like Gaffney has lost 600 students... doubting they've lost that many. The chair recognizes you're from Gaffney but please go back and try to read the ve...

VERY Preliminary 45 day count
These are the schools with over 1,000 students in grades 9-11 for the first 45 days. I should point out that Aiken county for some reason has NOT released enrollment data for their high schools yet. Notes Catawba Ridge clocked in with 876.64 students which will make them a solid 4A school next year....

Re: Job Openings
In a perfect world, it ought to be a split job. But football is the cash cow for all athletic departments and a program need the best coach they can get. Riverside is an example. Don Frost was football coach and AD. And Riverside was having good success on the football field. Then Don took the Chri...

Re: Realignment Talk
As far as Greenville County......in truth, Wafe Hampton should be reclassified 4A for athletics. When they built the new high school about a decade ago, the powers that be decided to build the county fine arts center on their campus. So list of the folks at the fine arts center take their core cour...
