Playoffs or bust for Bruins, Knights

FLORENCE — West Florence coach Pete Ellis and South Florence coach John Schweitz won’t have to analyze possible scenarios or tiebreaking procedures when determining the final playoff spot in Region 6-A.
That’s because the winner of tonight’s South-West matchup is in the playoffs with the loser missing the postseason.

South boys, West girls headed to playoffs

FLORENCE — For much of the year, South Florence coach John Schweitz questioned his team’s toughness.
But the Bruins showed their mettle down the stretch Friday when they withstood a late rally to defeat West Florence 65-60 and earn a trip to the postseason.
South won both region games against West and finish as the third seed in Region 6-4A. The Bruins will travel to Summerville on Wednesday for a first-round playoff matchup.
