Patience at plate pays off in West Florence win

FLORENCE — Bob Kleinknecht has been coaching baseball at West Florence for more than three decades. For just as long, he’s been hammering home basic pieces of baseball wisdom to his players, just like in the Knights’ 5-1 win over North Augusta on Thursday in the Class 4A District VI playoff opener.
He kept telling his team, “If you hit the ball hard, good things will happen.”
