Fort didn't get a first down until 2 minutes left in the first half. Completed about 3 passes, and I think had less than 100 yards of offense. The first quarter was probably -20 yards of offense, and 50 yards of penalties. There were so many flags it looked like NASCAR, but it was fairly even and not poorly called in my opinion. Fort's DB were exposed, and the Hillcrest play calling and mixing formations was really effective.
Tackling was horrible, and play calling was not the best, however LVP had to be the offensive line. Hillcrest blew by them so much in the first quarter the QBs were never able to get settled. It showed the rest of the night as they made poor choices and throws. MVP was the punter, James Mackey. I'm guessing he averaged 40 yards, while the Hillcrest punter may have been 20 yard average.
Good luck to Hillcrest next week, hope you pull it off. And great job traveling with a crowd to the Fort! You brought more than Summerville did from up the street. Hope you enjoyed your stay.
My pick, Dutch Fork 41-20. (this means fort and byrnes would be a 0-0 tie, decided on a 2-point conversion in overtime. yeah right
