Aiken @ Airport
Aiken @ Airport
Big region 5-AAA matchup this week with huge region implications. Airport has lost their starting QB, TE, DE and backup QB but has managed to win anyway and stands at 6-0 overall and 1-0 in region. Aiken is much improved and stands at 4-2 overall, 1-0 in region with only losses to undefeated AA Strom Thurmond and 5-1 AAAA North Augusta.

Re: Aiken @ Airport
With all the injuries at Airport and the improvement of Aiken, Aiken should win this game
Re: Aiken @ Airport
I think AIKEN wins this one.i want to see
coach NEAL do good at AIKEN.he is from 96.
he played on the 1982 team that won the 2a
championship.he is really a great guy.

Re: Aiken @ Airport
I will say this one will be a very close game with Airport finding a way to get it done again. The injuries have hurt Airport, but Josh Tucker is getting better in the passing game at QB filling in for Brett Burnett and is a true dual threat in the spread offense. Aiken is big and fast and much improved, but I think the Eagles will get it done at home. They have two common opponents at this point, BC and Dreher. Airport beat BC 42-37 and Dreher 23-20, while Aiken beat BC 27-21 and beat Dreher 35-20. Airport has speed at the skill positions, even with Tucker(who was their best athlete at the WR position) moved to QB, and is bigger up front on the lines than in the past few years. I believe the winner of this game is in the driver's seat in this region, especially if Carr remains out for MV.

Yes, it's a small world sometimes it seems. I really do think this will be a close game that goes down to the very end and could go either way. I understand your pulling for Coach Neal to do well since he is from 96. Good luck to 96 against BL

Re: Aiken @ Airport
Right now this looks to be the game that decides the region champion. I have watched Aiken's scout tape. They have no kicking game at all, this can hurt you in a tough game where every point is big. Somebody picked BC to beat Aiken because they had soo many players going both ways. Against BC they did not and won. BC really gave the game to Aiken. In the second overtime Aiken lost a fumble on third down. BC for some reason did not keep the ball in the middle of the field and missed a FG from the right hash. Yes, Aiken won and it was a big win but they were 14-14 at the end of 4 quarters. Airport beat BC 42-37,not a true comparison score wise to Airport/BC. A missed Chip Shot is the difference between Aiken being 4-2 and 3-3 and everybody thinking they a little better than last year but no shot at Region champs.
I know all the CSRA fans are all fired up and ready to fire back. But this is my opinion from watching the games. If any have seen Airports game tape and would like to post what they see from your side I would love to hear your opinion. I know Aiken is much improved from last year and wish them the best this season what ever happens Monday night. I was really impressed by your student section last year. Hope they can all travel to Airport.
Look Forward to a great game Monday.. GO EAGLES

Re: Aiken @ Airport
I'm sure a lot of games are won based off of capitalizing off your opponents mistakes...doesn't matter if it's in over time and by a TD or if it's a 30 point blowout. Aiken has a team that is capable of beating Airport, but will they is the million dollar question...can they perform under pressure...I'm sure they realize the significance of this game. I hope they get it done. I guess we shall see on Monday night.
Comparing like opponents is not always a good indicator of how a game will turn out, because of match ups . Aiken only two losses were to North Augusta and Strom Thurmond. They have yet to take the field and just dominate their opponent in the games they have won, but they do have a team that finds a way to stick around and put themselves in position to win.
This should be a great game.

I agree, should be a good matchup. No overconfidence here, just hope to have 1 more point than Aiken when all is said and done on Monday night
