Question for the pollsters? How does the current poll shake out if the South Pointe receiver doesn't drop the 2 point conversion in the NW game? Would you give a #1 ranking to a undefeated 3A team over a undefeated 4A team?WRHIRadio wrote:Here is this week's poll along with our special guest "picker", Viking 1.

Stallion, I can't speak for everyone in the poll, but I think it depends on who the teams have played. But, yes, we have actually had an undefeated 3A team higher than an undefeated 4A team (prior to Westside beating Hillcrest, they were below HArtsville and SP). It depends on the team really and who they have played. Also, with our poll, everyone has their own opinions, which makes it pretty diverse. Great question! Thanks for asking and viewing the poll.Stallion pride wrote:Question for the pollsters? Re: OTS Sports Network Statewide Poll: Week 9
Seneca is listed in the "others receiving votes" category, so some of the voters saw them worthy of a top ten. I don't see homerish in this poll as their poll is in line with most of the others I have seen. NW is consensus #1 in 4A in every poll I have seen. In the prep writers poll, Seneca is actually 4th in 3A, behind HArtsville, SP, and Greer (which is the same in this poll, Seneca is the 4th best 3A team). Also, on your note about PPG, yes Seneca's offense is great, currently the 2nd highest in 3A, but Greer isnt far behind as they currently are 4th in the state in offense. Defensively, Greer is actually better, as the Yellow Jackets are #5, while Seneca is #9. So it isn't a shocker to see Greer ahead, statistically the two are pretty close.gamecocksfootball62 wrote:I seriously see some of this poll as HOGWASH. Where is Seneca at on this list? I think they are worthy of being on the list. Some of you are asking why a Rebel fan would be imposing such. Well if your going to do a poll it needs to be more STATE WIDE and less HOMERISH. Seneca has probably the highest points scoring offense in the state. They beat a very good BHP team this past Friday night. I would put them in the poll instead of Greer. Greer is another common powerhouse name but look at Seneca and see that they might not be that powerhouse name, but they are that team that deserves some recognition.

This wasn't a big issue I was just trying to stir the pot around here. I LOVE talking football, but I love to smack talk also. I just put Seneca out there. They are a good team though, and I personally think they can and would go toe to toe with any top 3A program right now. The only team I see giving them a REAL game and that is the Stallions of SP. WRHI you want a guest picker that will do his homework on the teams worthy of those votes 62 is here. I do think NW is going to have a mid season hiccup.. I think the Injuns have their #. I think Byrnes is and should be the #1 ranked team in 4A right now. They have the Mojo going and that is dangerous. They're gonna put a lot of points on the board between now and the end of the season. As I stated earlier you're either gonna have to stop our running game or shut down our aerial assault... You can't hit both of them. Coach Mags defense is on point. We had one bad outing, but that doesn't define our season at all.FootballFan4343 wrote:Seneca is listed in the "others receiving votes" category, so some of the voters saw them worthy of a top ten. Y'all have a good team but I still say the team that scored 47 or something in the first half and were ahead we scored a lot to I can't remember 60 70 80 I dunno in the playoffs was a better team.our team then was way better than our current team.the only reason y'all didn't hang was adjustments on d.y'all stuck to covering aj .we used him as a decoy.
That team played for a title y'all were a couple of adjustments away from playing for one.
I just do not see that type of performance coming from this years squad.I believe Dunlap quin and maxwell team was better.that was a hell of a team.a lot of hype associated with it.I'll even admit there was a electricity in the air with that team when they played.it was like the fab five of Michigan .awesome team that came close.
I just feel with the inferior level of football this year down here.I think has given y'all a little false sense of the reality of how strong you actually are .I believe 6 to be about accurate maybe top 5.its hard to judge.I just don't see y'all coming home with hardware .but the possibility of playing in a title game is there depending on how your draw goes.there is some good 4a football in this state being played .I believe most of it resides above orangeburg.good luck anyways.

I remember that game. The first half was like 42-38 or something crazy like that. It was a great first half but then bonehead LaPrad went for a 4th down play in our own territory, gave the ball to you, you scored, and then blew us out early in the 2nd. I think we have the talent to definitely compete for a title this year (maybe a chance at an upset) but the coaching is what holds this team back.Wavefan70s wrote:Y'all have a good team but I still say the team that scored 47 or something in the first half and were ahead we scored a lot to I can't remember 60 70 80 I dunno in the playoffs was a better team.our team then was way better than our current team.the only reason y'all didn't hang was adjustments on d.y'all stuck to covering aj .we used him as a decoy.

I would even argue that my junior (2000/01) had a better team than this one. Mentality wise and coaching wise. It was the year that Summerville, Fort, and Stratford all went 11-1 (and the first year we beat Summerville 12-7) and had the 3 way tie breaker for the number 1 seed. Unfortunately we ran into a Lexington team that was hot and upset us in the 2nd round.
