Turnovers plagued the creek.congrats fort.
Re: Fort Dorchester 42 Goose Creek 35 Final
Congrats to FD.
4 costly turnovers killed Goose Creek. First came early in the first quarter inside their own 5, FD scores. Another when the GC back fumbled, scooped up by FD for an 80 yd TD. Game changer when GC was driving late in the game, GC picked up the first down deep in FD territory and the RB fumbles again. FD marches it down the field, aided by a chop/blocking below the waist call against the defense (?) and a bonehead personal foul hitting a player that was out of bounds.
Good teams take advantage of miscues and turnovers. FD converted them into points.
GC had a good game plan to ground and pound with the two fullbacks who kept the sticks moving and control the clock. But they burned precious timeouts when the sidelines couldn't get the right personnel in the game, or couldn't get the play off. This cost them on their final drive, left with no timeouts.
