Football City USA (Rock Hill, SC)

Post by trojangrad78 »

South Pointe opened as the district’s third high school in the fall of 2005. The school began with only ninth and tenth grade classes, adding new ninth grade classes yearly until grades nine through twelve existed. South Pointe's first graduating class was in 2008. Since opening, South Pointe has played both 3A and 4A level sports. Northwestern has always been 4A and has played in both D1 (Big 16) and D2 (Little 32) divisions.

Northwestern High and South Pointe High are 6 miles apart.

Since 2008, South Pointe has played in the following state championship games: 2008 (4A D2 W), 2010 (3A L), 2011 (3A W), 2014 (3A W), 2015 (3A ?).

Since 2008, Northwestern has played in the following state championship games: 2008 (4A D2 L), 2009 (4A D2 L), 2010 (4A D2 W), 2012 (4A D2 L), 2013 (4A D2 W), 2015 (4A D2 ?)

From 2008-2015 (8 years), between 4A D2 and 3A, there have been 32 teams participating in the championship games. Between the two schools, they have been 11 of the 32 participants.

Not bad! Congrats to both teams for making it to the 2015 championship games! Now bring 2 more championship trophies back to Football City, USA!!

I gotta go with the Rock Hill schools in both contests! Go Rock Hill!

How about Dorman/Northwestern next year! Already looking forward to it.

I think Northwesterns junior Running back, Jerry Howard will by far eclipse Spartanburgs running back Tavien Feasters record next year, and will be another big name player, that will come out of Football City USA.

Meth is my drug of choice. I'm referring to the regular season schedule posted by Dave.
