PUBLIC HIGH SCHOOLS NEED TO STEP IT UP.
With all these young men playing high school football, in our public schools, and most are trying to take it to the next level, and get a college scholarship offer, public high schools need to step it up, because a lot of the college football scholarships, are going to the young men in these private schools. Yes these private schools are starting to take a lot of these college offers away from public schools, we need to put more money into our public high school, football programs, to get back on a level playing field, with private schools. Here is one example: I am talking more about the private schools, on a national level. In our colleges there is only so many spots to fill each year, we may not feel threatened by the private schools here in S.C., but each college football offer giving to a private school nationally, is one less offer that the S.C. public schools will get.

What I saw was all that talent, money, and the best of everything score 7 points against a public school in Fla.
Byrnes played STA in 09 & at that time they were the premier private school in Fla & ranked #1 in the nation, Byrnes lost that game by 7 points & that was due to a STA kid being tackled 50 yards from endzone, only to be allowed to get up & run for a TD & 3 uncharacteristic fumbles by Lattimore. One of which he was about to walk into the end zone & just lost the handle on the ball before crossing the goal line.
My point is Public schools can play with these all star teams & even beat them, plus send plenty of kids to college. The 09 Byrnes team sent 7 D1 players to the next level.

I saw this debate earlier.. I think Charter schools, Private schools do have players with awesome offers but not team success many times, especially here in SC.. now in California it's a different story.. and the best players basically have people that PAY for them to go to school, not their parents... same thing in basketball, LJ Peak a star for Gaffney a couple years ago was recruited to play at a Private school in Chicago, his Mom moved and they were there a year, from all accounts, they were miserable and struggling with the situation, yeah, his money was covered as far as school but not much else, ended up coming back to Gaffney to PUBLIC school where he was happy.
