Sumter vs Byrnes(Ramblings of a Byrnes Fan)

1st off Big respect for that Tough Gamecock team, def top 5-8 team in the state.Sumter came out swinging and clicking on all cyclinders . Looked like Byrnes didnt know how to tackle,along with terrible QB play and play calling allowed Sumter to impose there will in the 1st half. Refs were terrible both ways . At half we were going to leave because Sumter was def the best team in the 1st half and looked like they were going to run away with it. We decided to stick around for the 1st drive of the second half a man i'm glad we did. i don't know what the coaches said at half and what adjustments were made but the Rebels from the Glory Days arose from the Ashes, The Offense started clicking and The D stood tall pitching a shut out in the 2nd half against that freight train Sumter Offense. Byrne's started using sumter's aggressiveness against them which resulted in the turn around ! The key play was the strip and score by the Byrne's D and I to feel bad for #33 , he will remember that for the rest of his life and no one wants that for a kid. These two team were pretty even on most levels but when the Plays needed to be Made the Rebels stood up and Made them and that's whats separate's the elites from the good teams and the second half the Rebels were the better team. When you can score 26 straight un answered points and shut out that awesome offense of Sumter in the second half its hard to argue the better team didnt win, the rebels could have scored again but kept it classy and just milked the clock out from the 12 yd line . All in all epic come back and big props to the Sumter Gamecocks , But the Rebels deserve to win the Game for having the heart to fight and never giving up ! Rebel nation should be so proud of this team !! GO REBELS

I read an article regarding attendance at Sumter High games this year being down - How was the crowd / attendance for Sumter and did Byrnes travel well?
