I don't really know anything about him. He's only been in Florence 1 for two years. I was wondering if he had some previous experience in Cherokee County, but the article doesn't mention it.

He's quoted as saying, "... It was a situation that I wasn’t expecting, but a position came open,...” “I had some familiarity with it, so I put in for it and was able to be offered, and I accepted the position.”

If your new superintendent is from Sumter that could be the "familiarity" he alludes to. It's always good to know the boss. ;)

Some interesting facts when Coach Scriven was athletic director at Sumter:

March 2015: JoJo English leads Sumter boys basketball to its first state championship in 30 years.
September 2015: JoJo English resigns from Sumter

March 2016: Jason Loudenslager leads Sumter girls basketball to a runner up finish.
September 2016: Jason Loudenslager is no longer the head girls basketball coach. Sumter girls basketball finished 3-18.

April 2017: Terrance Scriven accepts AD position at Wilson. (Through the grapevine...he was going to be let go after the school year.)

Scriven is from Sumter. Judging by his track record so far....Dan Jones seat may be on fire regardless of how successful a year Gaffney has.

We also had a football coaching change in 2015 as well. Thankfully...we hired Mark Barnes.
