WHY PICK SHRINE BOWL PEOPLE THIS EARLY
Re: WHY PICK SHRINE BOWL PEOPLE THIS EARLY
Most players good enough to play start as juniors or stand out enough in the combine and during the early part of the season it is not much of an issue. The logistics of the game for a coach are hard!

Tell em Wango Tango...if ya dont like the way they pick..then you coach a team and buck the system and see how your peers perceive you!!!btango wrote:Most players good enough to play start as juniors or stand out enough in the combine and during the early part of the season it is not much of an issue. If thats the case fort has several players started at jr and sophmores we should have 4 or 5 on there.btango wrote:Most players good enough to play start as juniors or stand out enough in the combine and during the early part of the season it is not much of an issue. I think you misunderstood the statement. Someone said it was not fair to a player that may not have started as a junior. My response is a player that does not start as a junior is probably not going to be good enough to make the team.Fortfor5 wrote:If thats the case fort has several players started at jr and sophmores we should have 4 or 5 on there.btango wrote:Most players good enough to play start as juniors or stand out enough in the combine and during the early part of the season it is not much of an issue. Regardless only two players per school can be selected. Out of 42 position players (plus specialist and long snapper) Fort D should have five players on the team? How many should Dutch Fork, Byrnes, Gaffney, et al have?

I know of two NC players that did not start as juniors but made the team. One played JV as a junior, his first year playing school football. They both made All ACC and played in the NFL, one was a star and Super Bowl winner. They stood out at combines and were dominant from game one their senior seasons. Also, played for a top program at the time.

Depends on which year.i have seen teams from byrnes that probably could have had 4 .i dont follow gaffney thats a sin and a ticket to hell in Dorchester county.i have seen kids grade high in combines and have been lazy on the field that imho didnt deserve the honor aswell. Realistically i like our north south game better.i thought garcia from Carolina forest should have had a look.but im not sure hes a senior.btango wrote:I think you misunderstood the statement. Garcia is a senior. The QB class in South Carolina is pretty deep this year. Doty at MB was a lock. They decided on the Chapman QB instead of Garcia. Garcia will be North/South for sure.Fortfor5 wrote:Depends on which year.i have seen teams from byrnes that probably could have had 4 .i dont follow gaffney thats a sin and a ticket to hell in Dorchester county.i have seen kids grade high in combines and have been lazy on the field that imho didnt deserve the honor aswell.
