They have home field throughout! For most region two teams other than gaffney you looking at a hour to 1.5 hour drive.
Heard their atmosphere is very electric and their players feed off of it! They have the talent to play with anyone .
Upperstate playoffs going to be fun!
Clover vs Rock Hill
Re: Clover vs Rock Hill
It's all good RCB, It seems that Clover doesn't get a whole lot of love anywhere even from York county and I get a little defensive sometimes.racincowboy02 wrote:Cloverfan I didn't mean any disrespect at all towards you or your Eagles when I made my comment. If you took it that way then I am truly sorry I was just giving my opinion on them come playoff time. To be honest I was dead wrong cause I told a buddy or mine that Clover would finish in the bottom of the region and be lucky to make the playoffs when we started the season and then Boom Clover made me look like a fool.

100% agreed Chucky!!!!Chuckster wrote:Great discussion on Clover. I must admit - I was not giving Clover their due given their non-region schedule. I thought they maybe tested against Irmo - NOT.......Same thing with their games against Nation Ford and Rock Hill - again, I was wrong. I think they can hold their own with their talent - QB - Receivers and now with their defense. Their QB and receivers are just as good as anyone in the state.
I maybe mistaken, but they should have home field advantage from Round 1 on...... They can make it to the Upper State Finals in my opinion....I assume they will play Dorman or Byrnes for Upper State title......Their fans pack their home stadium and they travel and follow them with solid crowds. You cannot dispute the enthusiasm Coach Lane has brought to the program........

Now most of you probably dont know much about that so read on.....In 2010 Cribb took over the helm at 3-A Bluffton and turned that ship rightside up. We had some really good athletes and a couple that went on to play college ball. In the first 3 years....Bluffton’s record was I believe was 38-5...6 if you count the Goose Creek quagmire!!!!

In closing....before yall nay sayers start in ...we were 28th in attendance in 3-A in 2010-11....jumped to 4-A D-2 in 2012 being one of the smallest 4-A schhols in the state and were 1 win away from advancing to Cola but Mason Rudolph and the NW air raid killed that in D-3 stadium 44-30 after we shut out ....yes shut out NW in the first half 10-0.
So.....Lane hopefully can continue this magical run to Cola with theae boys!!!!
Good luck Clover....NEWCAT is pulling for ya!!!

Remember watching Keon Stowers, then a player at Kansas, motivating the players on the sideline as Bluffton seemed unstoppable. He gets an assist for that win.
Re: Clover vs Rock Hill
Newcatntown....Is Coach Cribb still at Bluffton? Seems like May River has come on strong......Who is the coach at May River? I remember back in the day Battery Creek came on strong a few years under Coach Streeter....I think his brother was the starting QB...This was back in early 80's........Battery Creek and Beaufort were in our same Region - Wando, Summerville, Berkeley, Goose Creek, Stall, Beaufort, Battery Creek.........Newcatntown wrote:100% agreed Chucky!!!!Chuckster wrote:Great discussion on Clover. Bluffton set the state scoring record in 2011 and ran into Strait and his South Pointe Stallions in Death Valley for out only loss that year.

Re: Clover vs Rock Hill
Cribb is HC/AD @ Wayne County High School in Jesup Ga. He is in his 3rd year now with a record of 30-5 or something close to that.
Same thing he did at Bluffton but hasn’t got quite as deep in playoffs as dem Ga. teams come playoff time are stout.
I believe some dude named Rodney Sommers is HC at May River. Battery Creek is on sad times right now....Whale Branch opening what 10-15 years ago took away from there athletes.

Re: Clover vs Rock Hill
I hope that Clover does make a pretty good run in the playoffs and has continued success except when they come across the Indians. I think its great that a small community like that has something to cheer about and be happy about. I sure would like to see them become a threat every year and make some noise cause there are some pretty good folks in Clover
PS Whatever happened to that Clover guy that was also talkin junk about Coach Lane and putting the team down and the town down and talking about the good ole boy system

That was Hamp1234 on the old PFT forum. Don’t know what was wrong with that dude but everyone of his posts were rants about Clover’s football program. I’m just glad he didn’t find his way on this one. He was a sandwich shy of a picnic imo
