It’s a masquerade and scam to say the reason we don’t have it anymore is safety. What about the inferior team that is getting pummeled play after play, how is safe to keep them on the field with the other teams’s best when there are no subs? Every, and I mean every level of high school football needs some sort of rule so that jv players have the opportunity to dress for a varsity game. If that means there is a cap set for 4a and 5a so be it, but the smaller ranks are suffering by canceling jv seasons which hinder proper development and retention rates, in other words it’s difficult and almost impossible to build a program you are forced to live year to year. The high school league needs to take the politics out of this issue (8 quarter rule) and provide a responsible compromise.
Agreed. Abbeville's JV team will finish the season tonight having played only six games. Several teams in the region either had no JV team from the start or canceled their JV season midway through.

Correct.

…..and I guess the folks at Phillip Simmons would have preferred that Oceanside leave their varsity starters in longer? Oceanside was playing "over played" JV kids and P. Simmons still couldn't score.
