Same as you because we are about the same age. I'm told I went to the Gaffney games with my dad when I was three but I was too young to remember and because of this it is impossible to count how many total games I have been to. I've only missed one Gaffney home game since I was old enough to remember what was going on. I was in junior high and It was against Shelby, NC in 1994 and I missed it because the game was rained out that Friday night and I prayed for it to be moved to Monday because I had already paid for a church trip to Six Flags Over Georgia on that Saturday but of course Joe Montgomery played it on Saturday night. I remember listening to the end of it on WAGI on the way home as we pulled out a 27-24 victory. I've only missed maybe a handful of Gaffney games period and when I was not there it was like I was not where I was supposed to be. I haven't missed any games since Coach Strickland took the job here in 2003.racincowboy02 wrote:Wow that's awesome I have been born and raised and graduated from Gaffney got my 1st taste of Gaffney football in 1985 and haven't looked back.
Fortfor5 if my memory serves me correctly you were a Summerville fan before that right? So what made you follow them?
SF that's pretty awesome right there
96 what made you not switch support to the Eagles or did you support them and go to their games when your kids were at Greenwood

2005 graduate of Sumter High. Played on the 2003 state runner up team (still pains me to say that). I follow my team mainly to see the players grow into men and hopefully go to college. Sumter gets such a bad rap for what goes on in the community. Football is an outlet and potentially a way out for a lot of these guys. I follow a lot of other teams though, mostly in the midlands. But whether we’re winning or losing there’s nothing like Sumter football. I support the players and coaches through thick and thin.

Its funny we are the same age just about and we have been to a lot of games and yes I don't really remember a lot of those back from when I think that I have missed a couple of handful of games because of work but I will say that if I miss a game in person I am always listening and I am glued to the radio or phone listening to the gameChief Whoa wrote:Same as you because we are about the same age.
