TRANSFER RULES
680 - STAGS GAMES AND COUNTING
Re: TRANSFER RULES
I feel like this will definitely handcuff a lot of the private/charter schools now. You can't take a redshirt in high school like you can in college. I don't know many kids that would want to sit out a year of high school sports. I'd still prefer that they just put them in their own league.
Re: TRANSFER RULES
The new ruling will force parents to think ahead of time where they want their kids to go to school. This will also reduce the ability of the private schools who offer scholarships and charter schools who may entice kids with bells and whistles to come to their school. I mean what kid would not want to only go to 4 hours of class and be able to train for their sport the rest of the time which is what Oceanside advertises. I am confident the same goes on at Grays and Legion.
Georgia schools got tired of the private schools winning all the State Championships was the reason for the separation of the classes of Private vs Public. The Single A Public School classification was prepared to leave the GHSA and form their own association but backed down when the league split the playoffs. It looks like they have made a new change again for 2020-2021. I am posting both links to the articles.

Re: TRANSFER RULES
but you can move into the attendance zone and be eligible right away, right?
in the article the BE guy said that to transfer to BE you would have to move to Daniel Island, so that holds for the other schools/zones?

Re: TRANSFER RULES
Am all for a separate classification for private and charter schools in SC. To think that they dont have an advantage in attracting the serious athlete is naive.

Re: TRANSFER RULES
Whats different than school choice in public schools? Kids living in one HS attendance zone but attending another one of choice to meet their needs!!lol
