We seem to be sleep walking early on as the previous week the starters only played a quarter. West ashley has a very solid dline and they are sound tacklers but depth is an issue for them. They scored on fluke plays. First was a KO return in which the men in stripes who were as clueless as west Ashley's PA announcer missed what should had been a touchback when the returner feet touch the endzone . the other was an ill advised pick 6 with seconds left in the game when the backup qb was in.

I totally agree on all points! The announcer couldn't get a number right on a play to save his life, and the officiating couldn't make up their minds to call a flag or not. They called so many late it was ridiculous. As I said last week after watching WA play Summerville, the defense was their only real strong suit. Their kicker still can't kick a kickoff beyond 20 yards!! Now if they could find a passing game to go with the run game their could be something there. When you can run a 54 defense knowing they can't pass worth a damn you can pretty much assure yourself that you can shut down the run game. Although when they ran out of the wishbone a few times they caught Fort flatfooted and made some decent gains. I still think that #45, #1, and #3 are D1 caliber players. Time will tell if I am right.Fortfor5 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 16, 2020 11:17 pmRefs were interesting .fdgrad00 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 16, 2020 11:11 pmWe seem to be sleep walking early on as the previous week the starters only played a quarter. Those players you mentioned are very good indeed. We were going thru the motions we were flat and still put the beat down on them. I Didnt know we play summerville next week, it could be a bit of looking ahead as well. Also most of their damage was against our back ups in the 4th.Damefan wrote: ↑Sat Oct 17, 2020 12:21 amI totally agree on all points!
