Fighting, and acting like thugs, are often two different things. Many times a fight results from the officials just letting the game totally get away from them. When that happens, a fight is never far away, no matter the teams involved. But yes, there are some teams around that practice intimidation techniques by the way they act, and the way that they play, that could be called thuggish I suppose. Although I guess it falls mostly under the unsportsmanlike category. And a couple I have seen are very successful coaches. But one can tell that the things they do are cosched.

Totally agree with you. I watch to see if the coach is coaching or ignoring the behavior before I would make that kind of comment. One time is definitely not being undisciplined/thuggish. If the coach continues to tolerate or condone the behavior then that is thuggish in my mind. Some coaches don't care and some will yank the player (any sport) off the field and make them sit. Your right also about the officiating, if the officials allow the game to get outta control as I have seen too many times then that sets up for fights or a hell of a lot of personal fouls. It all comes down to game management coaches, officials, and leadership of the team captains.

Didn’t they get into an all out brawl a few years ago? I’m pretty sure SA did a few years in a row too. MV did with football and basketball. Aiken County wants to be about class, their actions show otherwise. Any more examples you need sir?
2017 was the year for brawls at football games. Yes, there was a fight at North Augusta vs South Aiken, and there was an even bigger one at Summerville vs Spartanburg. I was at the later game that year. Over 48 years of watching/participating in football from HS to current I have seen teams fight almost every year. There are teams that like to try and intimidate you with their actions and trying to purposefully hurt players which as I have seen classifies you like a thug. One fight in the past 20 years doesn't qualify in my book!!
It really doesn't matter to me about Midland Valley, Aiken or any other team. NA and South Aiken had a fight as they were shaking hands after a very chippy game in 2017. I was at that game and I felt both teams should have been kicked out of the playoffs. The SCHSL didn't do what they've done in the past. Northwestern and Marlboro County were involved in a brawl in the early 2000's and both were kicked out of the playoffs. So why was NA/SA different? You'll have to ask the SCHSL that. And what about Summerville/Spartanburg. All four should have been eliminated. I've followed NA football for many years and the last time I remember a fight was in 1970 at Brookland Cayce. I can't remember it happening again until 2017 but I may be wrong. So I guess in your mind all teams that fight are thugs. I disagree totally. Not all teams/kids are so called thugs as you have lumped them into. And once again I ask what is your team...sir.
My “bunch of thugs” comment that has seemed to strike a nerve for you personally was in reference to Aiken County as a whole (coaching staff & players), with the exception of a few, but definitely NA included. The fight was just one example. The current AD (former HFC) didn’t have any discipline, that’s why they always had talent but couldn’t do anything with it- i.e. the same year (SA fight) NA #1 seed getting bounced in the 1st round. The NA crowd has always thought better of themselves and walk around with their nose up. If that’s your culture cool, but you’re in that bubble only your crowd likes.
As far as my team, what difference does that make? I could have several that I follow across the state.
NAmAN, based on a previous post from WhoDat he is a Beaufort Man! Could be the reason he is ragging you, but South Pointe beat them like they beat ya'll with a depleted roster and a temporary Head Coach that did a great job those last 5-6 games.

Hmmmm.... nice try guy, but not even close! By the way, there's no team affiliation under your name as well. You may want to clarify with Mr. D, NAmAN. The screen shot that you cropped was originally posted by BeaufortEagles and I was responding by congratulating him on his team's accomplishments. IMG_4630.jpg IMG_4631.jpg. Your temporary head coach has been there forever as well and was supposed to be some kind of offensive know it all. The best thing they could do is go outside and get someone with no connections to the current regime. Good luck bro!
The former current regime if you knew anything about the program you would know that the interim HC was the only person with a long-term connection to the program. Jim Bob brought in all new coaches from the outside two years ago. Also, the interim went 3-1 and only lost in the second round of the playoffs. He has to be getting close to retirement so I have no clue if he even wants the job. I know they interview double-digit candidates for the job and got over 25 inquiries. Whoever gets this job will have a heck of a rebuild both with the team and community. Not my monkey, not my circus but I wish them well!

couple things.....

Don't refer to the young people on this website as the "Th***" word.
Don't know if it was initially meant as a joke?
It is possible to discuss these matters without the name calling.

Also...
Don't fake what someone posted.
Again, I don't know if it was intended as a joke.

Appreciate everybody posting here. :)
