Region 1-4A Automatic Qualifiers/Scenarios

Post by EHSMeanGreen »

Region 1-4A games: Week 11
Hillcrest @ Woodmont
Laurens @ Greenwood
JL Mann @ Easley
TL Hanna @ Westside

Automatic Qualifiers
1. Hillcrest
2. Greenwood vs. Laurens winner
3. Greenwood vs. Laurens loser
4. Easley
*predicted outcome in BOLD

Scenarios
-Easley gets 4th
Easley beat both TL Hanna and Woodmont, therefore they own the tie-breaker over both teams that could tie them for 4th in the Region Standings.

Easley owns the head to head over both TLH and Woodmont and would receive the bid. Points does not come into play.

Thank you. TRUE. Lack of sleep. Fixed it.

After calculating my Points Spreadsheet and some of Region 8's possibilities (HOLY COW) my head was MUSH.
Thanks again. :)

Easley's Playoff Possibilities/Seeding
-Calculating this is like the "Six Degrees of Separation" :o
-Pickens beat Southside last week, changing our Pickens game point total from 3 to 4. ;)

Easley Win over JL Mann and we have 32.5 pts  , lose and we have 31.5 pts :( Hello #16 seed.

-Teams in BOLD are teams that have a chance of making the playoffs in D2
and Easley could potentially outpoint or tie in points.

Things that can happen to help improve Easley's seed.
-SoFlo beat WestFlo, Sumter beat Wando, (this game gives West Flo an extra +0.5 for Sumter's 6th win)
-GWD beat Laurens
This combination of games would force a 3-way tie in points (32.5 pts.) between Easley, West Flo, and Laurens
Easley could end up with more opponent wins than both of these teams giving us the better seed. :)
Can't end up in a two-way tie with Laurens.

-Wade Hampton make the playoffs at 32 pts. (many factors, would likely be OUT if either Ridge View or Bluffton are IN)

-Ridge View beat Blythewood, and Spring Valley beat RNE, and Irmo beat Lugoff-Elgin
...............or RV beat Blythewood, and Spring Valley beat RNE, and Lugoff-Elgin beat Irmo
This would give Ridge View the #3 seed from Region 4 at 31.5 pts.

-Bluffton gets the 3rd seed in Region 8 (not likely), they would have 31 pts.
Scenario's here.http://www.scpreptalk.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=953#p5674

If "EVERYTHING" falls our way. Easley could go as high as #12.
We are most likely to land anywhere from the #13 seed to the #15 seed.

Notes: These could be important with multiple team tie-breakers if it involved Rock Hill and/or Laurens.

All Four 3A teams that Easley played made the playoffs, so they could help in the opponent wins category tie-breaker.
-Pickens at Daniel (1 guaranteed extra opp. win) :)
-Wren at Greenville (Wren should have a chance, but Tate's never won a playoff game) :|
-Seneca at Broome :|

Easley might need all 3 to beat Rock Hill in an opp. win tie-breaker.
