Playoffs and Teams in The Big 16

Post by gamecocksfootball62 »

With next week being the last games in region for 4 A what the playoff teams looking like for the Big 16. I havent been able to keep up with many of the teams out of my Reg 2 4 A. I know Byrnes, Gaffney, Dorman, and BS will go from our Region and give some people fits. I was just wondering is Mauldin or Hillcrest considered Big 16 teams cause if so dont sleep on either if them. There will be some playoff games in 4 A this year. If you wanna make it to Death Valley for that title your gonna have to fight for it. 62

Spartanburg seems to be the team on the bubble for Division One or Division Two. Latest projections have two teams that will determine the Vikings bracket.

White Knoll winning against Lexington next week would put them in.
Carolina Forest beating West Florence and Conway means they are in (and headed to Duncan in Week One unless the Rebels stumble from the #1 seed)

Basically,
1 Wando #3 Automatic Bid from Region
2 Dorman #3/4 Automatic Bid from Region
3 Summerville Region Champion
4 Sumter Region Runner Up
5 Boiling Springs #2/3 Automatic Bid from Region
6 Byrnes Region Champ
7 West Ashley AT LARGE on tie breakers??
8 Mauldin AT LARGE
9 Dutch Fork Automatic Bid (TBD)
10 Hillcrest Region Champions
11 Ashley Ridge #2 Automatic Bid from Region
12 Fort Dorchester #2/#3 Automatic Bid from Region
13 Gaffney #2/#3 Automatic Bid from Region
14 Spring Valley Region Champs
15 Clover NO WAY AT ALL
16 Carolina Forest MUST WIN LAST TWO GAMES

17 Rock Hill #4 Automatic Bid from Region
18 White Knoll MUST WIN LAST TWO GAMES
19 Lexington Automatic Bid (TBD)
20 Spartanburg AT LARGE
21 Stratford REGION CHAMP or RUNNER UP
22 Goose Creek REGION CHAMP or RUNNER UP

So, take out CLOVER as there is nothing short of everyone else in Region III quitting tonite...
That means 1 - 17 are now in Division One.

Carolina Forest doesn't win last two
That means 1 - 18 are now in Division One

White Knoll doesn't win last two
That means 1 - 19 are now Division One

West Ashley doesn't make it on the tiebreakers
That means 1 - 20 are now Division One

Excellent summary of the situation. Somebody's going to print that out and sound like a genius on the radio or TV.

Ken, look closely at Ashley Ridge. You have them 3rd in Region VIII. There is only one way possible for that to happen as I see it.

Bluffton wins, Beaufort loses, and Ashley Ridge wins, then:
1-SV
2-Bluffton
3-Ashley Ridge

If Bluffton loses, Beaufort loses (or wins), and A-R wins, then
1-SV
2-A-R
3-Beaufort

If Bluffton wins, Beaufort wins, and A-R wins, then:
1-SV
2-Beaufort
3-Bluffton

If Bluffton wins, Beaufort wins, A-R loses, then:
1-SV
2-Beaufort
3-Fort D.

If Bluffton loses, Beaufort loses, and A-R loses, then:
1-SV
2-Fort D
3-Beaufort

I do not believe that I have seen any of your projections showing Bluffton winning that game vs. Summerville, so I am not sure how you can find a way for A-R to finish 3rd in the Region? I see A-R as an improbable at-large, so unless they win and have Bluffton or Beaufort lose, then Stratford may very well wind up in Division I. I realize that there are yet a myriad of other possiblities, I am basing this on the rest of your projections.

Typo, should read #2 or At Large.

As I said in the thread with the projections, I looked at 3 games and what impact those three games had... my projection says AR will either win against FD and take the #2 spot or win on tiebreakers at 32.5 points.
