Dutch Fork JVs

Post by DFOLDMAN »

DF JV team beat Lexington 47-7 last night to wrap up an undefeated season...best JV squad around. Lexington was the only team to score on the DF JV team and they finished their season 8-0, outscoring their opponents 342-7, including wins over Dorman, Ashley Ridge, North Augusta and Spartanburg; as well as the region opponents. Looking forward to seeing them on varsity...

From numerous coaches from these opposing teams, Tommy Knots has nearly 25 Juniors on his JV team this season.

Your list of accomplishments is incredible. But temper that with the fact that these numbers are being accumulated against Soph and Freshmen at other schools.

Dutch Fork is truly impressive in the fact that they have a LARGE number of kids in each class that are talented football players and who are well-developed and internally driven. They have an armada of Seniors that make up their Varsity Roster. Any Junior not starting for a Knotts Varsity team is immediately dropped to JV to get game experience.

Lots of 5A schools play a few Jrs down, but I don't know of another school that has this type of depth and numbers. It is an incredible system as long as the players continue to show up to feed it.

Might be a few juniors but looking at the film/roster, lots of 10th graders which is a good thing. He has the buy in he needs from the students, the administration and the fans. Has built the program....a perfect storm situation at Dutch Fork with the talent, coaching and resources all there.

Most of the second/third string get a lot of Varsity experience...last game against River Bluff it was 35-0 at the end of the first quarter. Subs play the majority of the second half...good experience for the next season. Knotts knows what he is doing.

That’s a crazy defensive performance. DF doe a have it rolling.
Daniel didn’t fair as well at least not defensively.
The lions jv went 10-0 out scoring their opponents 485-161
I’m not going to list the opposition because it doesn’t matter and either they are not good or some other excuse will come about. Anyway we got to get our 9th grade defense settled down.

When Spartanburg JV played DF JV team there were mostly sophomores and freshman on the team. A lot of Spartanburg 10th graders who played on the Undefeated 9th grade team started the year on varsity. They were moved down after the 3rd game because they were short of players on the JV team. Still good job for DF JV team.
