Summerville Vs Boiling Springs

Post by DeCav »

I'm a little concerned for Summerville. Bluffton did fairly well against the Wave but they got away from what was working and on top of that dropped a lot of passes in the game. The Dawgs are potent on offense. This should be a really good test for the Summerville D. I believe they will get all the offense they want from Boiling Springs but it is the 2nd round and the Summerville program has been here before.

Summerville will have to play at their top level to beat Boiling Springs. I can tell you this from watching them play and the other fans will attest...the Dawgs will NOT go away. And I've heard Summerville has had some injuries. So I'm hoping Summerville wins but if they do I don't imagine they'll make it look easy.

Boiling Springs gives up too many points. Somebody's defense will have to make the crucial stop.

I've seen the bulldogs and their offense is as good or better than most of the teams that Summerville has seen this year... I'd say they most closely will remind them of Stratford. They are balanced with a small but quick RB and very powerful as well. The passing attack is spread out among several receivers including the TE and RB out of the backfield. I would expect this to be a close game and not decided until late in the forth quarter or even in OT!

I am excited and nervous at the same time about this game. We do have some injuries that will require some others to step up to fill the voids. I do however believe we can win the game but will have to play one of our better games to do so. We are going to HAVE to pass in order to have more of a balanced offensive attack than we have had lately. We have several weapons on offense that we rarely use which will have to be apart of our game plan or we will not win IMO. One is our 6'6" TE S Smith. We went to him one time in the first half against Bluffton. Why? I have no idea why this young man is not a major part of our offensive game plan. We also have a freshman receiver #13 Cameron Bunette who has excellent hands and was the talk around town prior to the season that I rarely see in the games. Summerville's defense has played well in spurts this season. Against Bluffton early on they simply were not on the field. Adjustments were made and our D stepped up after spotting Bluffton an early 14-0 lead and then outscored the Bobcats 38-14 the remainder of the game. We are at home so this is definitely to our advantage. I believe we will have a nice crowd on hand this Friday for what will hopefully be a great game.
