Well, I really do not know what to think. Both teams play in relative anonymity due to geography. There doesn't seem to be a whole lot of information on either team readily available. I have only seen Beaufort play twice this year because of health reasons, but I do know that the Eagles are playing at a very high level right now. Confidence has grown with each game, and that seems to half the battle at this level. Beaufort does not have a physically intimidating team, but a ton of heart, and they play well as a team.

As for the Jackets, I don't know too much about them except that they were good enough to beat out Dutch Fork and Lexington to win their Region. I saw DF play earlier in the year, before their RB got hurt, and they looked pretty solid. I have been watching HS football in this state for 6 decades now, and I can say that this will be my first trip to North Augusta......something that I don't get to say that much any more. I am looking forward to the game, and hopefully BEF and I can meet some of the NA posters either before the game, at halftime, or after the game. I will PM you with my number so that you can get in touch, and set up a meeting at the stadium somewhere.

On another note, am I correct in believing that the stadium is at the school? From what I have been able to look up, it appears that way. I have the street address, and a navigation app on my smartphone. Should be a piece of cake if I have the correct address. Nothing smells as good as driving through a plutonium plant in the South Carolina fall! :D

sounds good! yes the football stadium is at the school...you would be best served to park near the school. The visiting stands are on that side of the field. Good luck Friday and safe travels.

Hey Slim. I am like Penguin. I don't know a whole lot about North Augusta. But I have learned a little more on the Yellow Jackets. I know that North Augusta's QB Trib Reese has thrown the ball for over 2500 yards this season and their WR Keyon West has over 1000 yards receiving this season. So North Augusta has a great offense and their defense is pretty good also.

As for My Beaufort Eagles like I have posted in an earlier thread. Beaufort is a strong rushing team. Beaufort RB Eric Blakely has over 1500 yards rushing with 18 tds. Beaufort RB Jeffrey Tookes has about 900 yards rushing on the season.

I am looking forward to a good close game. I know that a lot of people are picking North Augusta to win this game but Beaufort is really playing good ball as of late. Slim, Like Penguin said we should all meet at the half or before the game. I am so anxious for the game.

GO BEAUFORT EAGLES BEAT THOSE NORTH AUGUSTA YELLOW JACKETS!!!!
Beaufort Head Football Coach Bryce Lybrand is 43-26 after his 6th Season at Beaufort
2022 3A State Football Champions
3 State Titles in Football
I have attended 636 Beaufort Football Games

Hey Pengy once you turn in to the entrance to the school you'll pass one of the end zones on your left take the next left which is a small parking area right up against the ticket booth and fence around the stadium. There are a few spots there for handicapped parking but they fill up fast depending on how early you get there. If those are full there are more in the main lot in front of the school but you have to go long way around if using a wheelchair. Hope that helps holla if you have any other questions

Good luck to both teams tonight!! Sadly, I will not be there. But here is my breakdown.

I think NA has speed for days on Beaufort. We have more athletes and better athletes. We have a QB that can make good decisions and put the ball where it needs to be. We have three receivers that can all go get it, with one being West who is really good. We have two RB's and will go with the hot hand late in the game if need be, and if you're doing a good job of slowing them down we've got a big back that normally plays LB that can come over and make the tough runs. If Beaufort plays well and controls the line of scrimmage than it will be a dog fight (watch the Lexington game). If NA gets Beaufort in space we will out-athlete you. When Beaufort has the ball we need to win on first and second down and not allow any long runs for scores...make you earn every yard.

I see NA winning this game, but I think it'll be closer than some are picking. I'm thinking NA 34-20

holla..

Safe travels to all and hope its a great game. Unfortunately I won't be there either as I am currently working in the Goose Creek area and will be attending the GC-SP game. Apologize in advance for the visitors side facilities ( only have portalets). Would have like to have met Pengy and BEF but maybe another time.

My take on the matchup is that NA just is too much for Beaufort. The strength of the Jackets defense this year is the front seven and while I think Beaufort will have some success running NA has not given up many long sustained drives. Dutch Fork scored 17 of their 24 points off turnovers that gave them a short field so if NA turns the ball over multiple times they could get themselves in some difficulty. I look for NA's linebackers to play a big role in limiting the Eagle's ground attack as I don't believe they possess a potent enough passing attack to take the focus off stopping the run.

Offensively NA is very balanced this year. Despite losing their shrine bowl and Georgia Tech commit left tackle Jake Whitley early in the Lexington game NA has consistently ran the ball with success which has forced defenses to respect that aspect of the game and opened up the passing game. QB Trib Reece, a junior, has multiple weapons on the outside and the arm to get the ball to them. While the WR corps are small they are very quick and all have the ability to turn a 5-yd pass into an 80-yd TD on any play. Led by #4 Keyon West and #11 Dre Dunbar I believe they will both have big games tonight as Beaufort will srruggle to contain either of these guys.

I see Beaufort hanging close early but NA will begin to pull away midway through the second quarter with the final being something like 41-21. Just my humble opinions and again safe travels to both teams fans and players and may we be blessed with great effort and class by all.
