CANE BAY 29 BEAUFORT 10 FINAL 8/18/23

Congrats to the Cane Bay Cobras on their 29-10 Win over My Beaufort Eagles last night. The Cobra's running game was too hard to stop for My Eagles last night. Cane Bay had 312 yards rushing and 0 yards passing last night. The Cobra's only attempted 1 pass last night and it was incomplete. Good luck to Cane Bay for the rest of their season.

Ok, as for My Beaufort Eagles. They made way too many mistakes in this game. The Ref's were awful in this game, (I hate to say that) but Beaufort had way too many penalties called against them in this game. They will have to work on that in practice this week. Also, Beaufort's defense missed way too many tackles in this game. They will have to learn to wrap the player up in practice this week. I lost count of the number of missed tackles in this game. Beaufort's Offensive Line needs to do a better job of blocking. They are not keeping their blocks and letting the opposing defensive players to get thru and make the tackle on Beaufort's RB'S and QB. Beaufort's Defensive Line needs to do a better job of getting to the opposing team's RB'S to make a tackle. Beaufort needs to cut out the turnovers also. Beaufort's Center is still having trouble hiking the football. He is just floating the ball to the QB. The Eagles will really need to work on that this week.

Now for the great things that My Eagles did in this game. Beaufort QB Samari Bonds, I thought, did some excellent things in this game. Bond's is getting better and better. Bonds threw the ball for over 200 yards and had some Huge Runs with his legs. Even though he threw 2 picks in this game, those picks were deflected off of another player's hands, I thought that Bond's ran the Beaufort Offense well. I look for him to have a Huge season this year. What a great job that Beaufort receivers did in this game. It looks like Beaufort is loaded with receivers this year. I look for Beaufort's Offense to have a huge year throwing the football and hopefully, that will help Beaufort's Running game get better. Beaufort's RB'S have struggled so far in the 2 scrimmages and this first game. Beaufort's Kicking game also looked a ton better in this game. I was so happy to see that.

Even though Beaufort lost, I still think that My Eagles will have another great year and make some noise in the 3A Playoffs. I love seeing Beaufort playing these Bigger Schools and hope that they continue to do so. It really helps them get prepared for the playoffs. Next up is another huge game next week against 5A Powerhouse Fort Dorchester. Beaufort seems to always play Fort Dorchester tough. So I am already looking forward to this game next week. It should be a pretty good game I think. Come on Eagles let's get this upset victory next week!!!!
