Movin the Chains. Really enjoy listening to the show and ya’lls analysis. I have no attachment to Irmo but I think they are better than solid. Think you may see them in the lower state finals. Agree there is some impact that Hartsville didn’t have their QB but their problems aren’t on offense. They are on defense and they are legit. They can’t tackle or cover in the defensive backfield. Their safety is their leading tackler and it isn’t because he is playing physical at the line scrimmage. It’s because no one in front of him can tackle. Watch their space eater nose guard regularly go backwards and then lateral in some weird sort of stunt that makes him a non factor in the play and unexessary to even be blocked. Anyways I have no attachment to Hartsville either but watched a game live and I don’t think they are where people thought based on their wins against Camden and Dillon. Those teams have some legit issues too. Basically the lower state looks wide open at both those classifications after S Florence’s performance this past weekend. Can’t say much about them because I haven’t seen them play in person. But I’ve seen enough highly touted teams and high level recruits that everyone says are the “truth” fail at the next level because all they were was height and weight. If anyone saw them in person they would have seen that. But coaches now just watch highlights and so camps. Look out for the Irmo running back though and the Crestwood QB. The West Florence QB won’t get any big offers at either QB or LB because he doesn’t have the hype/measurables, but he’s a football player and will succeed in FCS. There’s a RB at WF who had all the hype playing SCISA and has all the physical tools and lots of offers. It isn’t translating too well to 4A and putting a team on your back. It’s the same old thing and media loves to hype kids who someone else identified as a “talent.” It’s the easy way. Love that you guys go watch the games and figure out which teams are legit and which aren’t. Makes it more fun to really figure out which programs are trending up or down.

Loved hearing the Movin the Chains guys talk this game. I disagree with them and would be shocked if Hartsville won a two score game over Irmo on Friday. Hartsville can run the ball and their offense may keep them in the game, but they can't tackle anyone. The QB from Irmo is the real deal and is much better than the Dillon QB. The Irmo back is a transfer from Gilbert and very big and fast. I don't think that Hartsville can stop that offense. Haven't seen the Irmo defense but I think this one ends in a very high scoring shootout or, if Irmo can tackle, it isn't even close. I may eat my words, but I don't think the Hartsville offense is as difficult to diagnose as people are saying. There wasn't much movement in that backfield that people talked about. It was pretty much inside zone reads and traps play after play against Dillon. Maybe they didn't have to get creative because they were executing for 8 yards a carry against Dillon, but I don't see that happening this Friday after back to back physical games against Camden and Dillon. We will see what happens on Friday, but I see Irmo putting it on them this week and opening some eyes around the state with a very legit QB and power running game.
We definitely missed this one! Irmo is big and physical. Solid football team. I think Hartsville will be fine once they get healthy and get their QB and a few other pieces back. Appreciate you checking us out!
Thanks for what you do MovintheChains. I know that is a lot of work just getting some of those stats. I look forward to Tuesday nights.

Irmo's passing attack wasn't quite what I thought it would be, but it didn't have to do much with how they were running the ball haha. Their size and physicality was impressive. I liked how aggressive their defense was.
Love Javion Martin at Crestwood. Kid is a stud.
WF's Emerson can play ball for sure. Hardnose kid. Will be interesting to see if WF has anything for Byrnes this week.
Appreciate the kind words! We try to get out and travel as much as we can.
