Are the fans hurt enough to see what happened?
NW was PREPARED.
NW studied film and were coached on how to attack the Gaffney weaknesses.
Some how the Indians have it in their mind when they walk in the field they have won just because they are GAFFNEY.
Their swagger, how they carried themselves last night showed it

My comments are not a negative towards these young men donning the Gaffney uniforms!
They are a direct reflection of what they are taught,,, if you're actually paying attention it's more like a reflection of what they're NOT TAUGHT.

I’m still waiting for South Pointe to rise to the Level of Football that Northwestern is playing, like they have always done in the past, but I don’t see it happening with the present SP Head Coach.

I’m really shocked but I guess I shouldn’t be! Northwestern is probably the best team in the state any classification. In 5A the lower state teams has a very legitimate shot this year to steal the trophy from the upstate.

I'm not sure why people are underestimating NW. After watching them play in the championship game, and looking at what they return, they were my preseason pick to win 4A.

People shouldn't consider their 42-35 loss in week 0 a negative. MaxPreps has Providence Day ranked #2 in NC, #38 in the nation.

Maxpreps is an interesting source of info. Always wonder where it originates. PD is ranked 38 nationally and shows #2 in NC. Rabun Gap is in GA and does show #1 ahead of PD in NC independent schools, but not ranked nationally. They play each other later in the year, PD will win by 30+.

1 Northwestern
2 South Florence

4 South Pointe
5 Hartsville

[Edit] Interesting: I just realized that #2 defeated #4, and #3 defeated #5 this week.
Also, once we get to region play, #1 will face #4, and #2 will face #5.
That there is some good football!!

After this and the way NW has played all season, the tie DF had with them in the preseason scrimmage looks better than originally thought.
