Dutch Fork vs Weddington ( NC )

Post by Greerfan1 »

Thoughts on this game? Weddington is a tough team from what I've seen, their only loss was to Butler. The Silver Foxes seem to be hitting their stride after back to back blowout wins.

I think the momentum continues for Dutch Fork, give me them in a 21-17 type of game.

I don't know about this one. Weddington is at least as good or better than Hough, and that game didn't go DF's way... will be tough. Will make them better when region play starts. Offense came to life against North Augusta, 550+ yards of total offense, but turnovers and penalties slowed the momentum, but a good win over a decent team. I think the winner of Region 4 goes to the Lower State this year, so we will have to see. River Bluff and Lexington have decent records, but RB got smoked by Irmo, as did Chapin and Lexington lost to Gilbert- a good team, but still...Gilbert. White Knoll is undefeated but I think their opponents have won a combined total of 2 games...so untested. DF has a bye week after Weddington, so that will help with the injuries...got to get folks healthy and also give Coach Knotts time to iron out some of the issues before region play begins. Have to wait and see.

Saw a little film on Weddington...they are a good team. Good size, a solid QB, well-coached. The only slight advantage I can think of is being a DF home game, and perhaps team speed, but only a slight edge. They are going to be very tough. Might roll into region 2-4...but it will make them better down the road. They have a bye week after Weddington- get people healthy and continue to work on the problems. Execution is key. Reduce the penalties and turnovers...have to wait and see.

I saw some YouTube Videos on Weddington and the QB looks like the real deal. They seem like a tough physical team. Really excited to see how this one plays out. I'm not sure if they have played in to many big atmosphere games like what they will see from Dutch Fork on Friday.

Close but no cigar with Weddington. Listening to the Carolina GOAT after the game, he still believes they are a contender for the title. The bye comes at the right time. How well they do will hinge on a couple things; getting some folks healthy (have some key people out for the season it seems) and getting the right players in the right positions. The rest of the region looks good on paper. Have the week off then play White Knoll for their first region game. WK is undefeated and the rest of the region only has one loss each. The region winner goes to Lower State I think. Looks to be a tough road, but you gotta believe!

I still think TK and the Silver Foxes have a psychological advantage over everyone in the region. Can't see them losing a region game.

Over the past 5 seasons against those same four teams, Lexington, Chapin, White Knoll, and River Bluff they have outscored them 1086-150, including 222-14 last season, so hope you are right.
