B-L at Abbeville

Post by *Topcat* »

Does anyone have info on what B-L is looking like? Just haven't heard anything about them. This used to be a great rivalry with some barn burners.

Newberry put up 28 on them in the Strom Thurmond jamboree. I didn't see it, but they did score 14, which is what Newberry has allowed in 2 games this season.

BL has a really good runningback (#22). Defense is not great. The program is on the rise but i don't think they have enough to beat Abbeville this season. Should be a good game though.

Watched Film on B-L they have very nice RBs. But the 3 down lineman upfront Wagener-Salley was playing I didn't understand it at all. I'm ready to see Abbeville Panthers show B-L who the Real Panthers are Friday.

BL wins 37-35. Was another barn burner. BL has a very good team, seemed well coached and played turnover free. Couple of things, Abb just gave up too many big plays, a long TD pass where we let 'em get behind us, and the passing TD on last play of 1st half. That and numerous missed tackles proved too much to overcome. Giving up 30 in 1st half was just ridiculous. Offense kept us in it, though we had a couple dropped passes that hurt. We can play better, but, credit BL for keeping the pressure on us. If we get the what looked like obvious Pass int there at the end, we may very well have pulled it out. The ole ref kept the flag in his pocket. That and obvious incomplete pass they gave them were big plays, but, you get what you get with refs. The worst part for me is not losing a great game, but, that we will not have opportunity for a rematch, or, for a run in AA playoffs this year. We play 96 next week and then we are reduced a bunch of weak Class A teams. For all intents and purposes, the regular and first several rounds of playoffs will be almost unwatchable. Good luck to BL, they can be a dark horse this year.
