PROJECTIONS AS OF 9/17

Post by Rebel-Fan-74 »

Same disclaimers as before....

Still too early, more guess than fact at this point
Don't know about all the out of state teams
Don't know about the A, AA, and AAA teams getting to winning record, etc

as of 9/11 ----- ----- as of 9/17 -----

Region One
Hillcrest 1 -------- Hillcrest 1 -----
Westside 2 ------- Greenwood 2 -----
Greenwood 3 ---- Westside 3 -----
Laurens 4 --------- Laurens 4 -----

Bouncing back and forth between Greenwood and Westside for the runner up slot...

Region Two:
Byrnes 1 -------------- Byrnes 1 -----
Boiling Springs 2 ---- Boiling Springs 2 -----
Spartanburg 3 ------- Dorman 3 -----
Dorman 4 ------------ Spartanburg 4 -----

I still think Byrnes is the best choice for the region, Boiling Springs will be without Thompson for 3 or 4 weeks, so that means the he misses, York, Byrnes, Riverside and Wade Hampton. He's back for the Spartanburg and Dorman games. Between those three games, I think the runner up would be determined. Now, Dorman could run the table, and if they beat Dutch Fork on Friday night, you will see them listed as Region Champs next week. I think all four teams could be Region Champs any Region other than Region Four.

Region Three:
York 1 --------------- York 1 -----
Northwestern 2 ---- Northwestern 2 -----
Gaffney 3 ----------- Gaffney 3 -----
Rock Hill 4 ---------- Rock Hill 4 -----

York wins have been clicking right along... do it Friday against a Boiling Springs without Daniel Thompson will not be as impressive, but still impressive enough. Northwestern seems to have righted the ship, but I still give a slight nod to York.
Region Four:
Dutch Fork 1 -------- Dutch Fork 1 -----
Spring Valley 2 ----- Westwood 2 -----
Westwood 3 -------- Spring Valley 3 -----

Dutch Fork is #1, #2, and #3 in this region, but the SCHSL will give two other teams an automatic bid any way, so I go with Westwood and Spring Valley, but that could change before I hit submit button.

Region Five:
North Augusta 1 ----- North Augusta 1 -----
White Knoll 2 --------- White Knoll 2 -----
Irmo 3 ----------------- Lexington 3 -----

Not much to say here... North Augusta looks to be the obvious choice here, at least for now.

Region Six:
South Florence 1 ----- South Florence 1 -----
Sumter 2 --------------- Sumter 2 -----
West Florence 3 ------ Socastee 3 -----

I'm starting to think Socastee may be at least the #3 out of this Region and I came close to saying #2

Region Seven:
Goose Creek 1 ----- Goose Creek 1 -----
Stratford 2 ---------- Cane Bay 2 -----
Cane Bay 3 ---------- Stratford 3 -----

Another slight change, Cane Bay seems to be legit team. I bumped them to the #2 slot, but I don't see them as a threat to Goose Greek.

Region Eight:
Summerville 1 --------- Summerville 1 -----
Fort Dorchester 2 ----- Fort Dorchester 2 -----
Ashley Ridge 3 --------- Ashley Ridge 3 -----

Nothing new here, but I will say this, Fort D and Summerville game should be a sell out. I'm picking Summerville today, but maybe not next time I look at the list....

The brackets could look like this...

1 Dutch Fork
16 Rock Hill

8 Sumter
9 Dorman

4 Hillcrest
13 Lexington

5 Fort Dorchester
12 Mauldin

2 Summerville
15 Spring Valley

7 White Knoll
10 Ashley Ridge

3 Byrnes
14 Gaffney

6 Boiling Springs
11 Wando

1 Goose Creek
16 Stratford

8 Cane Bay
9 Westside

4 North Augusta
13 Blythewood

5 Westwood
12 Socastee

2 York
15 Nation Ford

7 Northwestern
10 Spartanburg

3 South Florence
14 West Florence

6 Greenwood
11 Laurens

Pretty much. :| The only highlight for our side that night was the performance of our punter.

Well I had SF as head and shoulders above the rest of Region VI but when I saw that score and knew it was a home game, I paused.... but to the Bruins credit, maybe it was first game issues because they have looked pretty good since then. Looking forward:

Week 4 - - Sep 19 - - at Crestwood ( at least two TD Favorite)
Week 5 - - Sep 26 - - at Ridge View (I wouldn't take Ridge View and 20 pts)
Week 6 - - Oct 02 - - Blythewood (I wouldn't take Blythewood and 20 pts)
Week 7 - - Oct 10 - - at Sumter * (AT Sumter, TOSS UP to 3 pts, if it were at home Bruins by 7 to 10 pts)
Week 8 - - Oct 17 - - at Carolina Forest * (Kind of like Byrnes at Riverside)
Week 9 - - Oct 24 - - Conway * (Other years, toss up, this year, Bruins by 14 pts)
Week 10 - Oct 31 - - at Socastee * (HMMMMM, AT Socastee "may be" your toughest game left)
Week 11 - Nov 07 - - West Florence * (RIVALRY, but still SF by 10 pts)
.

I'm thinking about entering the transfer portal!

The Sumter game is more than likely for the region championship. Sumter will also be coming off a bye week and will have two weeks to prepare.

This is the only game im genuinely concerned about... Sumter coming off a bye wk and we're on the road. Last yrs game was hard fought, I hope it doesnt turn into another Fort D game.

Btw Fort D is definitely for real, they will win region 8 easily. I project them making a deep run in the playoffs.

Fort D was exposed tonight. if Summerville has their QB back at 100% I go with the wave. If not pick the fort.
