I hope they use common sense
and don’t make it complicated.

That may be the funniest thing I have seen on the board in a long time

There is no easy answer. No matter what decision(s) are made, many people will be unhappy/upset.

So many people are quick to jump to a decision without thinking everything through.

I think you have to take into account a lot of things...how many teams actually missed region games (and how many games), because a lot of teams did not miss any games and some that missed games only missed a non-region game.

Some schools rushed to make sure they got their games in on Wednesday of Hurricane week, and then didn't miss a game last week so they will have to sit idle for 2 weeks during a pause or can they pick up additional games?

The other big thing is it's not just about football. All high school sports fit in the timeline and I believe someone posted when things got pushed back 8 years ago or so, state was played on like December 20th or so...how many of the football kids are then missing games with basketball?

As much as we want a quick fix or solution, I don't think there is one and like someone said, people will be unhappy either way.

Biggest thing is how many schools and how many region games were missed and then you can work on a solution....maybe that's why SCHSL has waited until this week to discuss...maybe...

It's up to each Region to tell the Schsl whom the #1,#2and #3 finishers are to fill the brackets.
So the ADs need to get together and rework the schedule for the next 5 weeks to find out their Region Finish
Based on what they have seen so far ...and get the questions answered...
And then the Schsl needs to either push the playoffs back 1 week or move to a 4 week playoff..

I guess there is not a true "one size fits all" type solution here.

Move it back - cascade effect into other sports and moving championships into holiday season, exams, etc

cancel games - unbalanced number of games played and some teams didn't play each other

As a golfer, there is a saying that comes to mind, "RUB OF THE GREEN". It is what you hear when something happens that doesn't quite fit into any of the standard rules. If you opponent hits a really bad shot that is going for the creek and all of a sudden, the ball hits a huge rock and bounces back on the green. I think we are at a RUB OF THE GREEN moment here. Some team is going to be claiming FOUL because they played an extra game and lost so someone else who got their game cancelled, got seeded higher than they did.
