Remember when I mentioned the word convoluted...(help here, hurt there)

Well... here goes..
Even though (by losing) Mauldin would tie in points with Colleton County at 32.5 pts.
You actually want Mauldin to lose to Boiling Springs.
Why?... Because if Boiling Springs loses; Boiling Springs would only have 32 pts.
Which is less than Colleton County.
B.S. is 4th in enrollment, so that also "could be" potentially bad for Spartanburg chances to be in the D2 bracket.

Mauldin (at least) has a chance to beat C.C. in the opponent wins tie-breaker.

A combination that could help push Spartanburg to the D2 bracket...
Spring Valley winning and Blythewood losing - this could help because Spring Valley would make the playoffs as an automatic bid
(2nd place in Region 4)
My preliminary bracket has Spring Valley not making the playoffs.

So to reiterate, this thing can be convoluted. Many combinations working at once.
I'll check to see if I find more..

I really think they are 99% sure of a playoff berth.

Also looking at it If Wando wins and West Ashley wins that would mean Cane Bay is 1-4, James Island 1-4 and Wando/West Ashley at 2-3. Now if that were to happen do they go head to head for seeding? If so WA beat Wando so would that make WA 3rd and if so that would put them in the Division 1 playoffs and then Wando would need points which would probably bump Cane Bay. So Region VII AAAA is still a little muddy on the outcome aren't they.

Region VIII AAAA looks like it is settled now that Ashley Ridge forgot to play the second half against Summerville. But lets say that Ashley Ridge Shocks Fort Dorchester (AND IT WOULD BE A SHOCKER) wouldn't that change the seeding some. I would say that would knock Ft. Dorchester from the #1 ranking at least, Then if Region VII plays out like stated West Ashley Would be in the Division I playoffs (If they got the 3rd seed) and Wando would be an at large team for Division 1 and wouldn't it keep teams like Spartanburg or Northwestern Down at Division II. I am just asking the experts since you all are the smart ones on the playoffs

I'm not saying "IT CANNOT HAPPEN" but I don't think Fort Dorchester can do anything Friday that would cost them the overall #1 seed short of getting into a fight with Ashley Ridge.

Based on the sheets sent to two different coaches (from my first hand knowledge) West Ashley is showing as the #27 ranked school on those sheets. Now to be perfectly honest, I cannot understand how they went from the ranking shown in the AAAA Handbook to the #27 spot but that is the number two different coaches have given us.... SO, using that information, they would not change the Division One bracket at all.

That is the confusing part down here I am hearing West Ashley is still one of the 16 largest schools, but leave it to the SCHSL to keep the enrollment a secret. If WA does Win would that put them in the playoffs since they would be 2-3 and beat Wando head to head?

As for "Smart" well at least your not in Greenville County then I wouldn't be so casual with it...lol

Even though I've been too busy to contribute to the board this season, I've always kept my eye on projections.
Thanks as always 74. Hope you're doing well my friend.

One question on Hillcrest. Is there any not-too-big of an upset that could push them up to at least a 4 seed?
I'd also settle for "anywhere but Duncan" in round two for the Rams? ;)

I really don't know which of the two lists are correct.

The GREEN list is the list that was sent to the coaches and schools in September/October and doesn't match the list in the AAAA Handbook. That is the "CURRENT LIST" according to those coaches and the direction of the SCHSL to the schools. On that list, if Colleton County gets in and Mauldin is eliminated, then it appears that the Vikings would be moving up to Division One. On the BLUE list, which does match the AAAA Handbook, West Ashley getting in and Mauldin getting in will determine the cut line. It could bring Stratford and Goose Creek BOTH into Division One if Mauldin and West Ashley both fail to qualify for the playoffs.

R = Team has already or will receive a REGION AUTOMATIC BID
L = Teams that I feel will receive the "AT LARGE" teams based on my projections of Week 11
? = Teams that are for real bubble teams. I show West Ashley losing in Week 11 which would put them out. Mauldin and Colleton County are tied for the last spot and it could come down to Beaufort and Berkeley winning in the AAA Bracket.

As I stated before, it's always a mess, but when there are two divverent versions of the "OFFICIAL LIST" WHO KNOWS?

That is correct... WA at 2-3 and Wando at 2-3 so head to head is first tiebreaker....
