Well, it was a tale of 2 halves tonight between Beaufort and Summerville. Summerville completely dominated the first half in this scrimmage leading 49-13 at the half. But Beaufort completely shut out Summerville in the 2nd half with the final score of Summerville 49 Beaufort 26. I know both teams will get a lot out of this scrimmage and see what they really need to work on before the real season begins. I love seeing Beaufort scrimmage against these Bigger Teams as Summerville is a 5A School and Beaufort is a 3A School. This is what helps Beaufort come playoff time. I hope that they continue to do this every year. Beaufort plays against 3 5A Teams, 3 4A Teams, and the 4 3A Teams in their Region.

I was really impressed with Summerville. I think this might be the best Greenwave Team in years. We shall see. Summerville WR Yannick Smith is the real deal. He made some great catches in this game. Summerville also has a couple of more good receivers and a pretty good RB. Their Defense is also pretty good. I wish Summerville the best of luck this season. I do like their new turf field and their new light system.

As for My Beaufort Eagles. They made a ton of mistakes in the 1st half but played better as the scrimmage went on. Beaufort's Defense still needs to do a better job in their pass defense. The Greenwave had too many open receivers. So hopefully Beaufort will work on their pass coverage. It definitely needs to be better. Also, Beaufort's Kicking Game really needs to improve. Beaufort missed a couple of Extra Points, had a blocked punt, and had a couple of punts that didn't travel that far at all. My Eagles have always had a great kicker so hopefully they will find someone to kick field goals and punt the ball well. I have to say one player on Beaufort's Team that I was really impressed with tonight was #15 Amare Patterson. Patterson is a Receiver and is only in 9th Grade. He made a couple of Sportscenter Highlight Catches tonight. If he stays healthy, Patterson will be a special player for Beaufort. I know Coaches don't show a whole lot in Scrimmages, so I look for Beaufort to open up the playbook a little more next week at Cane Bay in their 1st Regular Season Game. I want to see Beaufort QB Samari Bonds do a little more with his legs and run the football. Bonds is a special athlete and by the time his career is over at Beaufort, I look for him to be playing at a Division 1 School somewhere. Samari is only a Junior, so he has time to be really, really good.

Even though it was a very hot night, I still loved seeing some Football. It turned out to be a pretty good scrimmage. I look for Summerville to be a player in the 5A Playoffs and for Beaufort to be a player in the 3A Playoffs.

It was great seeing Mike-GOBIGGREEN, Shane-WAVEGRAD95, and talking to Colleton County Head Football Coach Adam Kinloch. I wish the best to Summerville, Colleton County, and of course to My Beaufort Eagles on a great season. Football Season is here My Brothers!!!!

HA HA, Justafan. You are just something else. . Summerville had a lot of starters still playing in the 2nd half. Beaufort got better as the scrimmage went on. Yes, Summerville has a really good team. I wish the Greenwave and Eagles the best of luck this season. You Sir, are just a Beaufort hater.
