Spring Game was yesterday at Bruin Stadium, I'm not gonna let anything out of the bag... all I'll say is that I was VERY impressed with our performance.

bbrown what are your thoughts on Sumter's hire?

I think is the best thing for the program at this point. Its best for the players as this will be their third head coach in as many seasons for the seniors and juniors. With the coaching staff remaining mostly intact and the players we have returning, I feel Coach Jones will have a respectable first year. Me personally, I would have had him serve as interim head coach for the year and post the job after the season, unless he does a very good job, which I think he will due to the talent we have returning. I think we would have had candidates with much better resumes, and not leave their program during a time of need. I believe I stated on PFT that a good coach would not leave their program this time of year unless it is an opportunity they cannot refuse. I’m not saying Jimmy Noonan and Keith West are not great coaches, but they did not have much competition to go up against, nor would I think it would have been fair to Wando or Westwood. I think we made the right decision, but I would have went the interim route.
