3A Who can defeat South Pointe?

South Pointe is still the team to beat. They are the current standard everyone else in 3A gets measured by. Until they lose, they are still #1 in 3A.

He was a Junior Varsity player, brought up to Varsity, would have come up sooner, but we had to many Seniors, should get some play time in, in the play offs.

Not saying the kid is or isn't a great player, but to expect big things out of him this year is unfair to the young man. I am sure if he would have been an impact player for SP this year, he would have been playing varsity all along. But, he wasn't because the juniors and seniors at his position were better than him. Again, might be a GREAT player next year, but he probably only gets in a blowout game or maybe sees some special team action this year, unless there is an injury.

Greenwood has won how many state championships? I think Emerald is and can be on that same level. Y'all have great talent and are well coached. That is why I said that SP will not have any cupcake teams to play in the upper state.
And I agree with you that if you don't show up to win, the other team could very well pull an upset. And I agree Seneca and SP both have a great shot.
Greer I really don't know. Region 1 gets battle hardened and beat up with Seneca, Daniel, Wren and BHP playing each other. Plus they all play teams in 4A and 2A that are very good in practice and during regular season. I don't know if Greer does as much.
As for my Bears, we will take it one game and one team at a time. You can't look ahead to future games that may not even happen. You have to focus on the game and the team you are going to play.
Good luck to the Emerald, maybe with a little luck both the Vikings and the Bears will face off for upper state.

I wasn't sure how to take the comment but thank you for the complement. Speaking of SP it looks like based on the brackets that if Emerald wins over Richland Northeast tonight they could very well be playing the Stallions in round 2 provided they take care of business against Daniel tonight. Most people wouldn't give Emerald a chance in that game next week but as long as you can put 11 on the field you have a puncher's chance to beat anybody on any given Friday night. But that's next week right now all Emerald need to focus on is beating RNE or their wont be a next week.

Seneca.
They might be the best team that Easley played this year.

South Pointe only beat Seneca 19-15 in the 2nd round of the playoffs last year.
And Seneca is better this year than they were last year.

How is South Pointe compared to last season?

Seneca struggled with Daniel two weeks ago, with a final score of 35 to 17. South Pointe beat Daniel 55 to 28 Friday night, with most of Daniels points scored, when South Pointe brought in the second, and third string players, to let them get some play time in, since there was no way Daniel could make a come back.
