Beaufort-21 Effingham County, Georgia (6A)-13 Final

The Beaufort High School Eagles move to 3-0 on the young season with a hard fought, 21-13 victory over a very good Effingham Rebel squad. Although there were a lot of penalties called (on both teams), we were treated to an otherwise well played football game. Beaufort lost 1 fumble in the Rebel end zone, and the Rebels were intercepted in the Eagles end zone. In a back and forth affair, Beaufort took advantage of their breaks slightly better than the Rebels were able to. The game was in question down to the 3 minute mark of the 4th quarter when Effingham turned the ball over on downs and Beaufort all but ran out the clock, sealing the deal. The Eagles offense is very versatile this season with a mix of running and passing. No more 3 handoffs and a punt from Beaufort. Next week, we get former Flufftown Pussy-Kat coach Ken Kribb and his Wayne County (Georgia) Yellow Jackets. They will make the trip from Jesup Georgia to the Eagles Nest on Lady's Island, South Carolina. The Jackets are a 5A class school. The following week, we make it 3 straight Georgia schools when we load up and make the trip to Titletown USA to take on the 6A Valdosta Wildcats. Beaufort Head coach DeVonte Holliman moves to 3-0 as a Head Coach. Congrats to the Eagles and best of luck to the Rebels on the remainder of their season.

BEAUFORT BEAT EFFINGHAM COUNTY, GA 21-13 THIS PAST FRIDAY NIGHT IN A BATTLE OF UNBEATEN TEAMS. IT WAS A GREAT GAME TO WATCH. BOTH TEAMS HAVE REALLY GOOD TEAMS THIS SEASON. I AM JUST POSTING ABOUT THIS GAME BECAUSE I HAVE BEEN SICK WITH A REALLY BAD COLD BUT I DID MAKE THE GAME. PLUS I WATCHED COLLEGE FOOTBALL ALL DAY ON SATURDAY AND WAS HAPPY THAT MY GAMECOCKS ALSO WON.

I LOVED THE WAY THAT BEAUFORT'S OFFENSE MOVED THE BALL AGAINST EFFINGHAM COUNTY. THE EAGLES OFFENSE REALLY MIXED THINGS UP WITH RUNNING AND PASSING THE FOOTBALL. BEAUFORT QB JEFFREY SMYTH HAD ANOTHER BIG GAME. HE THREW THE BALL WELL AND HAD A 3 YARD TD RUN. BEAUFORT RB JAMES DAGIN HAD A BIG GAME RUNNING THE FOOTBALL AND SCORING ON A 6 YARD TD RUN. BEAUFORT RB AMARIEE MORRIS HAD A GOOD GAME WITH A 30 YARD TD RUN.

BEAUFORT'S DEFENSE PLAYED AWESOME IN THIS GAME. EFFINGHAM COUNTY WAS A LOT BIGGER THEN BEAUFORT AND HAD SOME GOOD ATHLETES BUT THE EAGLES "D" KEPT THEM IN CHECK FOR MOST OF THE NIGHT. I WANT TO SEND OUT A BIG CONGRATS TO BEAUFORT DEFENSIVE COORDINATOR JUSTIN PARKER AND HIS ASSISTANTS ON A JOB WELL DONE. BEAUFORT'S DEFENSE REALLY LOOKED GOOD ESPECIALLY IN THE 2ND HALF OF THIS GAME.

I WAS IMPRESSED WITH THE CROWD AT THIS GAME. EFFINGAM COUNTY BROUGHT A TON OF PEOPLE AND FILLED THE VISITOR STANDS. HALF OF THE STANDS WAS FILLED WITH THE EFFINGHAM COUNTY BAND. THE REBELS BAND WAS HUGE AND SOUNDED GREAT. EFFINGHAM COUNTY WAS PROBABLY TIED WITH EASLEY WITH THE NUMBER OF FANS THAT AN AWAY TEAM HAS BROUGHT TO BEAUFORT'S STADIUM. I WAS REALLY IMPRESSED. I WANT TO SAY GOOD LUCK TO THE EFFINGHAM COUNTY REBELS ON THE REMAINDER OF THEIR SEASON.

WELL THIS WAS A HUGE WIN BY MY BEAUFORT EAGLES FOOTBALL TEAM. BEAUFORT IMPROVES TO 3-0 ON THE SEASON. NEXT UP IS ANOTHER HUGE GAME AGAINST UNDEFEATED 5A WAYNE COUNTY, GA AT HOME NEXT FRIDAY NIGHT. I CAN'T WAIT!!!!
