Y’all are giving CF too much credit. Garcia is a good QB but other than that they are average. This team isn’t much different than what they usually field. CF has numbers but just doesn’t have enough football players. Heck it’s like coaching at North Wando.  Mark Morris is an above average coach but I think you are seeing them hit their ceiling this year. My prediction is the fighting Jody Jenerette’s of WF will win the region. All you are seeing is a region with no Sumter and Conway just about to hit rock bottom and in desperate need of a house cleaning. SF is struggling too so it’s just elevated CF to the next man up spot.

No, you are right, they are just average. I think they'll lose in the first or second round. But I think you are giving WF too much credit. They lost a ton of talent to graduation, their loss to 3A Camden wasn't an upset. Camden is good, WF is not.

Jody is a good coach and his teams will be physically and mentally tough. I just don’t see that at CF. You want to talk about not good? Conway will very possibly have their first winless season in school history. At best they might beat Socastee. That’s it. I have been hearing some interesting information though concerning the program.

My friend Conway isn’t going anywhere. First downs are an accomplishment. Honestly with all sincerity this is the absolute worst coached football team in our history. On the bright side we finally have a real AD and not the interim Shaw that took over when coach Jordan gave up the AD position. He’s a young energetic Conway alumni that was the AD at Green Sea Floyds and hired Donnie Kiefer that won them their first state championship. His goal is to bring one to Conway and he knows what changes need to be done. Not just coaching but the entire program from the b teams up. Lots of improvements at the stadium already and he’s ordered a big video jumbo tron scoreboard for next year. We are also planning to install field turf at a cost of $850,000 but he has a $450,000 grant approval from the NFL to help with cost. We have to raise the rest. Plenty of talent here and support that’s been proven you can win championships here. Numerous D1 players we have sent to power 5 schools. We are primed to take it to the next level. Just have to find the right coach. It’s a sad time right now but I feel like we finally have the leadership to reach our potential. Fingers crossed!

Love him, or hate him, Coach Knotts and what he has accomplished at Dutch Fork High School, has brought the bar for success to a much higher level since his arrival. It is my opinion that he has exposed the relative weakness of High School head football coaches in this state. Now, more than ever before, it takes more effort from the players and from the coaches, to get to the level of competition that he has brought to the field on Friday nights. A lot of the storied programs are left scrambling, try to find that guy who can compete against the likes of the Silver Foxes.

Penguin. I have it from the highest authority that Tom Knotts applied for the Conway job but we did not interview him because on the application he stated he didn’t want to teach or be an administrator. Just coach football. There’s ways around that and I hope we can at least attempt to make a deal this time around. Another thing was we almost had to give the job to Carlton Terry for various reasons.

Best of luck man, we share the pain. Of course, we didn't have nearly as far to fall, but being a cellar dweller is no fun.
