From the looks of it, Emerald's offense has been abysmal.
You usually don't see a team revert back to the triple option unless they are completely void of talent, which absolutely can't be the case at Emerald.
McMahon is an I-Formation guy. Did he hire a triple option OC or something? I just don't get it.

#2 is Jamil Martin, who is now playing cornerback at Garden City CCDeputy wrote:A bit surprised a coaching move wasnt made there after last year. They were huge up front on both sides of the ball. Had the big kid that went to Auburn, I think they had a lid that got a scholarly to Liberty, and had a kid wearing #2 that was as talented an offensive threat as anyone I saw all year. Obviously there is a coaching issue somewhere if they couldn't win with that talent at their disposal.
No idea how he didn't get any D-1 offers

Emerald has a coach on staff right now that could turn that program into a fierce winner in very short order. I won't call his name but everybody there knows who he is.Onion Rings wrote:the players are there, but a good coach is hard to find

Do the Vikings have any chance against Strom Thurmond this week?

Strom Thurmond will beat them by 20 points. Emerald has no offense this year. If I was the coach, I would have guys playing both ways and move some guys up from JV.No Fly Zone wrote:Do the Vikings have any chance against Strom Thurmond this week?

I've heard that Emerald lost a couple strong players to the "AAU" Raptors team in Greenwood. Did that happen over at GHS too?Greenwood97 wrote:Strom Thurmond will beat them by 20 points. It's a shame if those kids think they'll get the same level of exposure playing in that kind of league.
Not shocked to see McMahon's offense struggle. He keeps changing schemes and coaches. Got his best offensive play caller as his defensive coordinator. What sense does that make?

Re: Emerald Vikings
31-6 loss coming off a BYE is a joke, even if ST is quite good.
Sadly, it's looking like both McMahon and Pippin need to go. It's time for some changes in Greenwood.

Re: Emerald Vikings
It was probably time last year. Greenwood program seems stuck in the mud for some reason. I know Emerald lost a lot off last years team, but they had as much talent last year as anybody in 3A, and that includes Chapman. Who knows? May e thebpowers that be in Greenwood have changed their thinking about the importance of football that falls in line with other places where as long as the coach just doesn't embarrass the school with his behavior that there is no need to make a change.
