So why on Gods green earth, is the SCHSL letting these schools compete? Maybe after one of them actually wins a state title in football they will intervene eh?

FWIW. Oceanside already played for a baseball state title this past spring. They lost. I think it was to Landrum in the AA ranks but that could be wrong.

I think Dorman has great coaches in the big three of football, basketball, and baseball right now. Dorman also has great teachers and has a top notch academic program including many advanced placement class opportunities for the college bound as well as many vocational opportunities via a longstanding relationship with RD Anderson Vocational Center for those wanting to learn trades. And of course Dorman sends a good number of students to college on athletic scholarships. In short, yes I am biased, but Dorman is an EXCELLENT high school. So hopefully parents will feel that their kid is better off staying at Dorman rather than going to some new charter school.

Exactly.....alot of people trying for an “EASY” route these days. Not much integrity, pride and loyalty these days....even some coaches!!

Yeah really, and besides...here on the side of Spartanburg, we already have plenty of alternatives to Dorman High. We have Oakbrook Prep, Westgate Christian, and right up the road just a bit, Spartanburg Christian Academy, where my cousin’s daughters went. We sure the H-E-double hockey sticks don’t need another high school of any kind opening in or near the area!

They are public charter schools not private.

Now I’m a bit confused here. So who decides who goes to these public charter schools. How do they get their students?
