Week 6 Top Ten

1 Dutch Fork (9)
2 Byrnes (6)
3 Fort Dorchester (1)
4 Dorman
5 Myrtle Beach
6 Sumter
7 Dillon
8 Abbeville
9 South Pointe
10 Chapman/Daniel (tie)
(First Place Votes are in Parentheses)

Others Receiving Votes: Gaffney, River Bluff, Chester, Clover, TL Hanna, Lamar, Berkeley, AC Flora, Wagener-Salley, Gilbert, Aynor, Andrew Jackson.

The Statewide Broadcasters’ Poll is comprised of: Chris Miller, Gene Knight, Kevin Robbins, Moe Bell, Scott Wells, Chuck Roberts, Brown Simpson, Chet Tucker, Mario Washington, Matt Hiers, Matthew Kreh, Tyler Cupp, Tyler Shugart, Rixon Lane, Mac Banks, Mike Uva.
Whoa, the guys from Duncan getting 6 first place votes. That's surprising.
B5, To your point, quite a few of our broadcasters have seen both Byrnes and Dutch Fork in action and the take away has been that the Rebels are a more complete football team, right now, than Dutch Fork. We try to encourage our voters to take pre-season bias out and vote on this season, so far. That is the reason we do not do a pre-season poll, but instead begin the voting after week 1.

It’s Called DF fatigue. They’re tired of DF winning so they decided to hop on the Byrnes train since they drug Gaffney through the mud. To each is own. I also seen both teams play and I wouldn’t say Byrnes is more complete...
No, its not Dutch Fork fatigue, its likely what they said it was. Voters, who had seen both teams, felt Byrnes is better. Obviously your opinion is different, but your opinion does come with a bias since you are a Dutch Fork fan.
Just because someone disagrees with your opinion does not make the opinion incorrect. They stated their reason, that should suffice, instead of your creating a reason.
Hence why I said to each is own. They can have their opinions. It doesn’t matter because at the end of the day they’re still looking up at DF. Period.

Not saying anything negative. But i watched hoff playing for katy texas.thats a hard runningback to replace for anyone.
Jon Hall already has 508 yards and 11 TDs already. It’s impossible to replace someone like Ron but Jon has done a serviceable job.

It’s a statewide poll. Not many people outside of the midlands know about how good Camden is. The only person that probably knows about Camden is Mike Uva. The Chester game will be a really good game and I think Camden will win that game.

I’m not a big poll fan because a lot of them are not totally based on the eye test and strength of schedule.

Tyler Cupp would know too especially after having broadcast the Camden v Lugoff game and does weekly shows with the Camden Coach as well for the local radio station. And what gets me is Andrew Jackson begins getting votes after getting shut out by Buford.

Look, lets be honest here. Does anyone really think Camden is one of the top ten teams in the state? Seriously? Ok, thanks. Thats all that needs to be said. Two voters have been mentioned as having "seen" Camden, and obviously they did not vote for them. So, how can you expect others to whom you claim haven't "seen" them to vote for them?
They are, at best, the 4th best team in 3A (so far this season). As you said, they can change some minds if they beat Chester, but lets not go crazy yet.
Bottom line, Camden is NOT a top ten team (when you bring in all classifications).

...maybe Slide Clover on and Daniel off, but other than that it's legit!
