Perhaps I'm reading this wrong. But it says 250 or 50 percent capacity, whichever is smaller. Since they want you to use the smaller one, that means most will be limited to 250. Most stadiums hold much more than that. It will be felt.
The excerpt may not have been clear, they have approved an exemption to that rule. The exemption will allow them to have up to 50% capacity.
Yep. I just ran across this on a news site. Good.
This was posted yesterday evening saying each school was to make the determination as long as 6 feet apart was maintained. Indoor facilities were 50%.

Yep. This is the news I saw yesterday after I made the previous post. I think this is fair.

The 50% rule for football sounds fair (BUT)
we all know when some of these big games
are played that when the home tickets are
sold out then home fans will go to the visitors
ticket booth and buy a ticket and set on
the visitor side.I would hate to drive a long
way to a game and get turned away.

That is a very good point. The visiting school should be offered that block of tickets for advance sale. I could see schools offering them to parents, season ticket holders early in the week, then all others until gameday. Any not sold by gameday go to the ticket booth for walk-up sales.

Our shared stadium has a very large visitor's side that only gets filled up when the 3 Florence schools play each other. I'm sure those games will sell out. It could be an ugly scene if fans and parents are all trying to get to the ticket booths before they run out. Florence Memorial has common parking areas, one set of ticket booths and a single entrance gate. I think the FS1 ADs might need to consider some changes this year.

I wonder if the home school will allocate to the visiting school x number of tickets and if they are not sold those will be turned back in to be sold at the gate. The Home team could sell their allotment through pre-sales to preserve the number of people getting allowed sorta like college games.

how about a simple rule. Home fans on the home side, visitors on the other, no exceptions

calculate the seating capacity of both sides then publicize how many fans can sit on each side

if security sees home fans on the visitor side making a fuss (D3, Nixon), escort them out

So all other games will not be an issue filling up the visitor side to capacity, right?

Then maybe you could see marking off the bottom half for the visitors and using the remaining seats for overflow from the home team if you didn't have the hard and fast rule of no intermingling of fans.....

Still a lot of issues to be worked out that I see.....

When it all gets down to the fact that "we need to make all the money we can on these games" those ADs and District Staff Members will be tempted to cut corners, stretch the rules, and bend them so far they break.

I can forsee that I may not see much football this season if it is even played. All the hassles with tickets, roped off areas, all the extra "rules for fans" when it comes to sitting together, not to mention bathroom rules.... this is going to be a mess.

That would be nice but some schools don't give a rip. I've only sat on the visitor's side of Nixon field once and if the there were Byrnes fans over there they were greatly outnumbered by Dorman fans that night. My worst experiences: Sumter. There's always a crew of old, trash-talkin' a$$holes sitting in the top row to the right of the concession stand. You can complain but the rent-a-cop will just smile and keep walking.
