Here's why....

I'm hoping they have worked some things out, maybe got a player or two back on the field, a little of both, because we know that Byrnes -vs- Gaffney is more than JUST A FOOTBALL GAME. For these communities, it is as important as those football games out in FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS on TV. Usually have the stands full of fans, everyone excited and usually all the local Diners, Drive Ins and Dives are full of customers. I'll be at the CLOCK of Gaffney about 5:30 pm getting a bite before heading down the the parking lot about a mile from the stadium (yes, there is a little bit of anger there!) and hiking to the field and if I don't have a heart attack along the way, I'll make my way to the visitor's side and find my seat and hope that it's a better showing than last week for the "D". Yes, I've been hard on them this week, but if you give up 64 points, I think you should expect some questions to be asked! So while I've been upset, I'm still a Rebel and I'll be there, Lord willing, to see them!

Byrnes won't face an air attack like they did vs Westside. I like Byrnes

45-15 final...

bou't like I expected ...good game till halftime...but even then ..u could tell it was a matter of time...Byrnes had a lot of young kids playing...Gaffney's defense continues to produce turnovers...

Special teams cost us 21 points last night, how does that happen?

The one that really made me cringe, 4th and WHOLE BUNCH and the kicker misplays the snap and with 7 people in his face, runs from the end zone to the 3 yard line, why not just take the 2 point safety?

Gaffney has a well balanced team and is HUGE on the line and by HUGE, I mean HUGE. Defensive line, with a primary three man rush harassed the quarterback all night. I can see nothing on the schedule (other than a potential hiccup @ Dorman) to prevent them from being 10-0 at season end.

As for the Rebels, they have a BYE WEEK to put the last three weeks behind them, get some of the 18-20 members of the Injured List back on the Active Roster (we lost what I consider to be the most valuable wide receiver in the 2nd quarter last night and he was on the sidelines on crutches for the second half), and begin to focus on REGION PLAY! It's been a long "pre-season" and we are 2-3 and some folks would write us off and gladly say, they are done!

However, a loss to the #1 team in 5A and a loss to the #3 team in 5A is not something to hang your head about. I still think if we could get some of that M*A*S*H unit group back on the field, we have a chance to be competitive in Region II.
