Upperstate - Gaffney over James F Byrnes and Spartanburg (Hands Down, the toughest 5A Region) Likely one team will win the rematch and move on. Hillcrest could win after those three beat each other up!
Lowerstate - Dutch Fork easily (10-0 Regular Season) over Fort Dorchester (state champs)
{This is assuming that the playoffs will have Dutch Fork in the Lower State.}

4A
Upperstate - The toughest to pick for me: South Pointe, Northwestern, Greenville or Greenwood and I'll take NW (state champs)
Lowerstate - South Florence or whichever team survives that Region down there!

3A
Upperstate - Daniel (closest game of the season will be against Beaufort)
Lowerstate - Beaufort (state champs) BEF gets one!

2A
Upperstate - Abbeville (state champs) (YES, I'm picking them because I want a real Public High School to win)

Gaffney is the champs until their not
I like the an situation at FD over DFs qb situation
Plus they got a lot of payback due from last season
Sleeper pick Hillcrest
A lot back on defense and a good senior qb


4A upper Northwestern (champs)
4A lower Myrtle Beach
Singe Paige Woffords hiring they have been knocking on the door. Moving down to 4A this particular year might actually mean more deep competition than in 5A
Their biggest hurdle may be 10 miles down the road
I think MB got too cute in last years playoffs and it but them
They always seem to be in the mix
Sleeper pick A C Flora
Yea they lost their coach
But they still have Markel Townsend and a lot of players who know how to win

3A upper You already know DWD(champs)
3A lower Brookland Cayce
Not really a lot needs to be said
They are simply loaded right now and it’s not falling off anytime soon from what I can see.
Fruster has them focused on one game at a time and one season at a time.
BC has been at the doorstep the last two years eventually falling to the lower state champion Camden both years
They have 23 seniors and a good 3 yr starting qb
Sleeper pick lower Richland
Remember these guys were in Upper state last year and had a heck of a year . Will be interesting to see what they do in lower this year

2A upper Gray ( champs)
2A lower Oceanside
I hate to have either of them in there but it is what it is.
Gray knows what it takes now and even though they lost a tremendous player they are still experienced and talented
Coming down from 3a to 2a Oceanside will have the depth and talent to get to the title
Sleeper odd to say this but Abbeville
Honestly their the only school in the upstate that could prevent Gray getting back


1A upper SSC ( champs)
1A lower Bamberg
SSC only competitors may be the other two private schools ten miles from them
Bamberg always have a solid squad but it won’t matter in the end.

Dropping down from 2a to 1a
They will be SSC only competition.

St Joseph Catholic may be a bigger threat than Christ Church imo. They are also moving down from 2A. I still think SSC wins, but I agree Christ church will be tough also.

Other than Dutch Fork being in the UPPER STATE, which we didn't know at the time, not bad for the projections in 5A.

In 4A I'm still alive as Northwestern and South Florence looking good.

In 3A, Beaufort scared me last week, but hopefully BEF has them back on track this week!

In 2A, Abbeville and Oceanside are both still alive and playing like championship teams... so maybe!

In 1A, Southside Christian got knocked out last week; however, Lamar is still alive!
