I'm ready to see this game. I watched the Vikings handle Northwestern pretty easily in a scrimmage. Last week the Trojans scored 89pts on Rock Hill. Either Rock Hill is that bad or the Vikings played a very tough team last week. I also seen the Vikings shutdown Mallard Creek 35 - 8 in the Broome Jamboree in 2 qtrs, then i seen where the Creek won a big game in NC last week.......Will the real Vikings please stand up!! :!:

A scrimmage is just that, I don't put much stock in them. Friday nights shows what the teams are truly made of. The best will rise to the top during region play, everything else is just practice.

This game is currently on a storm delay. Raining with lightning at kickoff time.

Looks like it will pass in maybe 30 mins.

Possible 8:30 kickoff if weather cooperates.

Fantastic game!

Very thrilling.

Pat’s plagued both teams. At one point there were 5 TD’s on the board and one extra point.

The vikes and foxes got in a pattern where it made sense to go for two after each TD back and forth but failed to convert.. at the end of the night, all the passed on PAT’s added up and could have made the difference for either team.

1st half was a bit messy for the Foxes with their first two possessions ending quickly on bad pitches.

The Vikes offense was antsy in the first quarter drawing 3 false starts in one drive. Both defenses played very well in the first half.

The second half saw each team settle in on offense with Spartanburg being much more in control of the clock. The fourth quarter had the Vikes grinding out their drives and controlling TOP. The Foxes seemed in much more of a hurry to score.

In hindsight, Hodges would probably have run more clock on the last Spartanburg drive if at least on the play clock.

The last possession saw the Foxes needing to get down the field in about 4 mins. The Vikes bowed up well on defense and really slowed the Foxes down stopping them in the red zone finally with just 3 secs on the clock.

A couple of early snaps on the Vikes last drive and a couple of plays that went out of bounds to stop the clock were probably the difference in the outcome.

I’m going to say that the Vikes looked to me to have the edge on coaching over the four quarters and the Vike offense was very paced and methodical compared to the Foxes offense which seemed in a hurry most of the night.

Missed extra points was the theme of the night and put the ending in a match of who could score and when.

In the fourth quarter there was a sense that neither offense would be completely stopped so it became a matter of clock management.

Again, in the end it came down to 3 secs. The Vikes could have run the same last drive and bled another minute off the clock by running the play clock down with hard snaps and going down in bounds to keep the time ticking.

Compared to last season the Vikes look much improved and the Foxes maybe aren’t 100% the team they were last season.

The Vikes made too many mistakes on offense penalty wise and the protection could have been better. Their QB wasn’t running for his life but didn’t have too much time to look down receivers either.

The Foxes made the plays that they needed to make though. Congrats to two very solid teams.

The Vikes will need to shore up protection and the Foxes could do better, I think, by slowing down their offense and getting on top of time of possession.

Both teams look ready to roll when region play starts and will be dangerous the rest of the season. The starting QB for the Foxes was injured in the first half and did not return I don’t think but it didn’t seem to slow them down with the backup coming in and keeping it together.

Not sure where Fort D would fall but I can easily see DF #1 and the Vikes a very close 2nd. I’ll be surprised if these two teams don’t have a rematch this season.

Very loud and exciting finish. Was worth waiting for the 9:00 kickoff.

Fans of both teams should be very excited about their prospects. Neither left much on the table, except again for all the missed PAT’s.

Good luck to both teams the rest of the season. Im glad the Cavs don’t have to think about either team for awhile.

DF has had 4 turnovers in 2 games. Not Silver Fox football. Need to hang on to the ball and we will be fine.
PS- You must have not been paying attention over the last decade plus...The Silver Fox offense is ALWAYS in a hurry...lol.

It's going to be interesting with DF not having a deep threat WR for the first time in a while. #14 looks promising, but not sure if he's the answer.

#14 and #17...need to turn them loose. Although Jarvis Green started as a WR!...haha...turn him loose.
