Or schools could just reach out to alumni that can/will pay for stuff.
Some schools, that works just fine. Especially winning programs, or especially one school towns. Others, not so much.
...and then there are the 1/2 school towns, like Timmonsville and 96. T'ville was closed and merged with the Florence schools, how long before 96 is closed?
Good question, 96 and Ware Shoals too, i believe they are the 2 smallest school district in the state and both in Greenwood County. Rumors of consolidation with Greenwood district #50 have been swirling for quite some time since 96 had a rouge Super and a few rogue, idiot board members (same booster club idiots) who borrowed huge sums of money and put the district in a deep financial hole. About 2 years ago 96 had to lay off all teachers with more than 20 years and replace them with kids just out of college. I think 96 consolidating with Greenwood will happen and probably soon. Ware Shoals too, once their buildings are no longer usable. The Ware Shoals High School is over 100 years old.
