Welcome Newberry to the game this Friday. As for Columbia I don't know what to say. They have some athletes but they are a bad football team. IDK if they just weren't trying, poorly coached or both. Believe it or not, we only ran 11 offensive plays in a game that had clock running in 2nd quarter. It was blocked punt, punt returns, interception returns, one play drives, just crazy. I think it was 35-0 and we had run 3 plays maybe....not much fun to have such games.

It all boils down to the move to 5A, not enough schools in SC for 5 divisions.

It all boils down to the move to 5A, not enough schools in SC for 5 divisions.

Even before they added 5A, you had teams making the playoffs with 2 region wins. I remember Newberry having to travel to a 3 win Columbia team 1 year in the playoffs because they won 3 of their 4 region games over eau claire, ca johnson, and somebody else.
