If it's between Porter and Liner then there's really no need to have this discussion. Porter is clearly more accomplished. He has a State Title. Multiple Region titles. Liner has the one region title at Laurens which is a huge accomplishment at that place but Porter is the better coach of the two. I really like Chris Liner as a person. He's basically family to the Greenwood community but not the best candidate of the finalist. The ADs job is to pick the best coach of the candidates. Both jobs (Greenwood and Emerald) did all their interviewing yesterday. Should be a decision later this week. I've been told the decision will not have to wait until the January board meeting, which probably mean a special called board meeting or just an approval by the board and the new hires can be announced. I expect both new coaches to be announced later this week. I'll make this prediction, Greenwood got it right and Emerald did not.

The finalists were interviewed yesterday during the in-service day. The committee doing the interviewing for Emerald is a clown show. Your prediction is most likely going to be correct.

I'm cheering for Porter. I believe Greenwood's ceiling is higher with him. I didn't really know much about Porter at first but I asked around. Very impressed by what I heard. Only reason I don't say Nickles is because he's been coaching at Abbeville since I was in high school back in the early 2000s and probably is thinking about retirement soon since he's won so much.
