Re: OT: A Car/Racing section?
I was to late for the cruising deal they had made it against the law when I was just starting to drive. I can remember being a kid and watching the teenagers from that era cruising and playing the loud music and just hanging out and for the most part just chilling and hangin out lol my parents hated Sunday nights and cussed and fussed about it for years but never really said anything to the county or town officials cause they knew that the kids were just hanging out

Well well well looks like Chris Madden makes it 2 for 2 on the new xtreme dirt car series. Madden won the Grinch 40 on the Gap at Volunteer Speedway in Bulls Gap TN over the weekend and extending his points lead.

Re: OT: A Car/Racing section?
Well it seems the votes speak clearly. No racing section.
BUT!
If you like I can set up a racing board completely separate from this one.

My brother had a 68' Dodge Charger 383 4 speed, that thing was fast. I remember the speedometer going past 140, the car felt like it was floating on the highway. A real adrenaline rush, better than any of those roller coasters today. He also had one of these.

1968-1970 Dodge Charger
Also new for 1968 was the Charger R/T, identified by Dodge’s trademark “bumble bee” stripes around its tail. Standard for this muscular B-body was the 375-horse 440 Magnum. The 426 Hemi was optional. Charger R/T production was 17,584 in 1968, 18,776 in 1969, and 9,370 in 1970, when Dodge’s 390-horse 440 Six Pack V-8 appeared. General updates in 1969 included revised taillights and a new split grille. In 1970, the grille was revised again, and was surrounded by a chromed loop bumper. Among historic highlights at the time were two NASCAR-inspired models: the Charger 500 and Charger Daytona, both built only for 1969.

Congratulations to your Dorman Cavaliers on a successful season.
Just getting started, have many more muscle car articles to share, for instance Plymouth marketed a muscle car with a looney tunes moniker nameplate. Marvin Martian would be proud - Beep! Beep!

The 1970 440 continued to be capable of 390 horsepower when equipped with the so-called Air Grabber induction system. That interesting system provided a solid connection between the hood scoops and engine once the hood was closed. The sides of the pop-up Air Grabber door were eye-catching with evil-looking shark’s teeth etched on the sides.
Some of the models did, however, have a dust trail that reached from near the front of the front fender and disappeared into that scoop.

With that famous name, the company made the most of it with a special horn to sound like that famous cartoon bird. The horn made the Road Runner ’Beep Beep’ sound which was unmistakable.
