SC rule on coaching?

I am a provisional teacher in a different state been coaching high school football for 15 years and have 3 state titles as an assistant coach. I am willing to take an instructional assistant or security or whatever they choose to become an employee of the school while I work on becoming a licensed teacher in the state of South Carolina. I am not great but I believe I could do the job at a high level. I just think some school district are missing out on coaches who could potentially change their programs.

When Tanneyhill was at Union he never was certified to the best of my knowledge. Think they gave him an job of being over buses, or something similar. Tanneyhill was a decent coach but at the end of the day I think the folks in Union just got tired of his act.
Dont think Steve Wilson was certified when he was HC at Eastside. And a shame he isnt there anymore. Whatever success they have had over there the last couple years came about because of the change Steve brought to that program

where do your parents live in SC? What area are you looking at?

Punch up your resume and start applying. Schools are desperate for coaches so I'm sure you will find something. Would wager that every team in SC has at least one non-certified coach, and am betting most have several

I have applied at multiple schools and one school turned me down because I was not a certified teacher. That is why I asked the question. I did not want to keep wasting my time if it was a state rule!

Stop applying through the district and reach out to ADs and HCs directly.
