No, I can think of some others that stayed in a spread offense even when they didn't have the QB/WR talent to support it. The opposing defensive coordinator has an easy night shutting it down.StateChampsGHS wrote:This season, it felt like it was 100% run each game. Pippin is the only coach I know who runs heavily out of the spread.eagle93 wrote:I knew it wouldn't be long until you arrived. A good salesperson can convince you to buy. Pippin was a good one and was very convincing. Had me convinced we'd be running 60/40 run pass. Didn't happen. More like 90/10 run pass from the spread. I'm sure he interviewed well to beat out coaches who have won titles like Nickles and Phil Strickland.Damefan wrote:Shell Dula who was in charge of the hiring of Dan Pippin was not a Football person, that’s funny!!GwoodEagle2k1 wrote:Sparky is going to pick the best candidate of the coaches that applied. Yep. And after almost getting a delay of game penalty. Why'd it take so long to get the play in for running a simple play? It was vanilla as heck.StateChampsGHS wrote:No audible or timeout to change things up. Smh!eagle93 wrote:Lol. That's funny, but that's exactly what you heard Scott Earley yelling across the field. Trust me, Greenwood ran more running plays out of the spread than any team this year.

Re: Greenwood
We had a QB that broke the school's rushing record a few years back. We had a D1 receiver that year and the coach would rather run the QB to death. Luckily, both players are playing at the next level. The receiver ended up going to Georgia St but could have made it to a power 5 school if we threw the ball more his senior season. The coach had favorites on the team.

Probably. It was a bunch. Maybe 4 pass attempts a game.StateChampsGHS wrote:Trust me, Greenwood ran more running plays out of the spread than any team this year.

Re: Greenwood
Still alot rushing attempts for the spread offense. We should have been in the Triple Option, Wing T, Wishbone or something run oriented if he was going to run the ball like that.eagle93 wrote:Probably. It was a bunch. I'm agreeing. Trust me, 4 pass attempts ain't much. Especially out of the spread.StateChampsGHS wrote:Still alot rushing attempts for the spread offense. He had Power 5 offers and opted to go to Georgia State.StateChampsGHS wrote:We had a QB that broke the school's rushing record a few years back.
