It was reported that we drug Carolina Forest, and I saw us do well against Sumter this week. I'm somewhat biased but I think we were somewhat better than Sumter on both sides of the ball. Newberry and Mid Carolina kick off the season in the battle for the Hedgepath Trophy.
Hard to say how this game will go. Newberry returns some key guys including WR #7 Zach Chalmers who is sitting with 15 D1 offers entering the season. I watched Newberry play in the Jamboree Friday night vs Blythewood. The offense looked really good, and the defense played good for all but 2 plays. MC has been shut down with covid stuff already this preseason, so I haven't seen them. Looking forward to kicking the season off.
